Nasscom Urges IT Employees in West Asia to Shift to Work From Home Mode
Nasscom, the industry authority for IT services, has recommended that its member companies facilitate work-from-home arrangements for their employees in the region. West Asia is experiencing one of its most severe geopolitical crises in decades, prompting the corporation to take this decision, according to the IT industry association.
The situation in various sections of West Asia is being actively monitored by Nasscom. The industry association has confirmed that it is communicating with its council in the Middle East. In addition, Nasscom has instructed all regional staff to maintain consistent communication with their local embassies and to take all required safety measures. The warning is issued at the same time as Israel and the US have begun a coordinated offensive on Iran. In the meantime, Iran has launched attacks against multiple US-friendly Gulf nations.
Indian IT Players Issued Advisories
Tech companies from India, including TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and others, have warned their staff working in the area to stay put and observe all local regulations. One of the growing areas of concentration for Indian IT service providers is the Gulf region. They have established relationships with numerous major regional corporations.
When compared to other regions, the region's revenue contribution is still somewhat tiny. At this stage, operations throughout the industry are "continuing as usual", according to Nasscom. Nevertheless, the member companies are still on high alert and ready to take further action if needed, as stated in the statement.
Why Iran’s Conflict with US and Israel Erupted?
Trump stated in a Truth Social video that the United States would be launching a "major" war on Iran in order to protect its citizens from what he called "imminent threats" posed by the Iranian government. He mentioned Iran's nuclear programme as one of these dangers, even though the US had "totally" destroyed it in June when it temporarily supported Israel's war against Iran.
Trump stated in his video that the United States can no longer tolerate Iran's nuclear aspirations and that the country has turned down every opportunity to denounce them. He made the claim that the United States had "always" maintained the position that Iran's government should never possess nuclear weapons. However, he failed to present any proof that Tehran was making progress toward this goal.
The president again reiterated his controversial assertions that Iran is developing missiles capable of reaching the United States' mainland. On the other hand, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister, has long considered Iran to be the country's greatest threat. Israel went to war with Iran last summer following the downfall of Iranian ally Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria and the crippling of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia in Lebanon.
