OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu’s Exit Sparks Shutdown Speculation: Another Uncertainty?

OnePlus India’s CEO Robin Liu, who said everything is fine with the company, has just resigned. This is perhaps a shocking one, as the news is igniting rumours that the company is, in fact, shutting down. There were several issues that put the company down. The green lines on the display, the 2024 retailer boycott in India (which led to a massive 70% drop in market share) and more. Since then, it's been a rough run. And now this. So, is this a normal leadership change, or is the company quietly changing strategy behind the scenes? For all that, learn more.

Why Is CEO Robin Liu’s Exit Raising Eyebrows?

There are several market speculations that OnePlus might reduce its operations in some countries and focus more on cheaper phones in India. This is huge because India is the second-largest smartphone market in the world, and OnePlus drives major sales here. Liu had publicly denied all the rumours (with so much confidence). However, it was not long after his clarification that he announced his resignation. It is believed that when the leadership walks away amid chaos, something isn’t right.

And so, all eyes are on OnePlus now. Having said that, a report by The Economic Times stated that he is leaving the company to pursue his personal passions. Yet, nothing is confirmed, which is why the rumours remain the same. His last working day with the company would be 31 March. Hence, there is still time for an official confirmation.
