Document360 was founded by Saravana Kumar, who serves as the Founder and CEO of Document360 and Kovai.co. With over 20 years of experience in enterprise integration and SaaS products, Saravana is based in London, UK.

The company operates from offices in London, Chennai, and Coimbatore, with a global workforce of more than 250 employees.

Document360’s work culture emphasises innovation, transparency, and product excellence. Its hiring philosophy is centred around attracting talent-first individuals who are domain-aware and a strong cultural fit.

Tasks are distributed across independent product teams, each dedicated to Document360 and led by experienced product managers and tech leads to ensure focused execution and ownership.

Document360 - Startup Story

Document360 was born out of a firsthand pain point experienced by its founder, Saravana Kumar. In 2017, during the company’s annual BizTalk360 conference at Microsoft’s Redmond campus, he began searching for a more robust knowledge base solution. At the time, the team had outgrown its existing helpdesk-based platform, which lacked essential features such as version control, audit trails, granular permissions, and reliable search, critical for any scaling tech product.

What started as a search for an alternative quickly became a realisation that the market was dominated by either overengineered enterprise tools or sleek SaaS products that failed in real-world scenarios. This revealed a clear gap, and a major opportunity.

Instead of continuing the search, Saravana decided to build the solution himself. Over the next six weeks, he quietly developed a comprehensive technical and product specification, detailing the user experience, core features, and tech stack. When he presented the concept to his leadership team, the response was overwhelmingly positive, validating the idea as everyone had experienced the same pain point.

In December 2017, Kovai.co launched a company-wide, two-week hackathon to bring the prototype to life. The result was a functioning MVP of what would later become Document360. Although it wasn’t production-ready, it proved that the vision was achievable.

From there, Document360 evolved through continuous iteration, customer feedback, and a strong commitment to solving real documentation challenges. What began as a side project to address an internal need has grown into a globally adopted platform used by SaaS companies, enterprises, and institutions worldwide.

Document360 continues to be guided by the same founding principles: clarity, usability, and a product-first mindset.

Document360 - Mission and Vision

Document360’s mission is to empower businesses to create seamless self-service knowledge bases through well-structured content. Its short-term vision focuses on expanding the platform’s AI capabilities to accelerate documentation workflows. In the long term, the company aims to become the industry-standard documentation platform for businesses worldwide.

Document360 operates on the core belief that documentation should never be a bottleneck, it should enable teams to focus on innovation rather than repetitive support. Its guiding motto is: “Deliver clarity at scale.”

Document360 Logo and Tagline
Document360 Logo and Tagline

The name Document360 was chosen with intention and clarity by founder Saravana Kumar. Drawing inspiration from the company’s existing product naming convention at Kovai.co (notably BizTalk360), Saravana wanted a name that immediately communicated the product’s focus—documentation—and its comprehensive, all-encompassing approach, reflected in the “360.” The selection process was swift and deliberate. Within an hour, the name Document360 was finalized.

The tagline “Centralize Documentation for your teams” was chosen to highlight its ability to serve startups and enterprises alike.

The logo is a clean and modern design to represent clarity and structure in documentation.
