Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa Becomes New Eternal CEO After Deepinder Goyal’s Exit

Deepinder Goyal, the founder and current Group CEO of Eternal, is making an exit. Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit (a company part of Eternal), will chair the office starting from February 1, 2026. Deepinder has clarified the reasons for his resignation after the news broke. He wants to work on new ideas that carry high risk. According to him, executing them within the public company setup isn't ideal.

As per reports, he is going to work across sectors such as space tech, aviation, longevity research, and wearables. That's the reason he is saying goodbye to Eternal. Interestingly, his resignation has also come just after weeks of worker strikes. So, what is happening? What are these new ideas? What about Goyal’s money and shares? What will Albinder Dhindsa handle at Eternal? For all that, learn more.

Why Is Deepinder Goyal Stepping Down as the CEO of Eternal?

Deepinder Goyal clearly explained his reasons in a letter to shareholders. Following that, the company officially informed the stock exchanges about it on January 21. Goyal says that he wants to work on high-risk ideas that require him to experiment out of his comfort zone.

He says that these ideas don’t fit Eternal’s business plan. Otherwise, he would have worked on them, staying with the company (and withisn the company). Eternal is a public company and would seek stability over anything (and one should be careful with any risk). That's the reason he thought it was in his best interest to resign and work independently. Is he leaving the company entirely? Well, “No!” He would be the Vice Chairman of the company. However, that would require the approval of the shareholders.

What Other Businesses Is Goyal Involved In?

According to Moneycontrol, Goyal has been spending more time raising money for his other ventures:

  • Temple – it's a wearables startup. He was raising 50 million for ‘Temple’ in December, 2025. And the funds are being provided by early investors in Zomato.
  • Pixxel – it's a space technology company. He personally invested about $25 million in a new funding round.
  • Continue – it's a research company working on longevity (i.e., making products to help people live longer and healthier).
  • LAT Aerospace – it's an aviation company working on short-duration flights.

What About Goyal’s Money and Shares in Eternal?

According to Goyal, his financial future is still closely tied to Eternal. His earnings with the company will still depend on Eternal's performance. He also mentioned that his goals are still very much aligned with long-term shareholder value. And his unvested ESOPs will be returned to the ESOP pool.
