Misochain Technologies Raises ₹18 Crore Seed Round Led by Capital-A to Advance Indigenous Aerospace Components
Capital-A, India’s specialist venture capital fund for manufacturing and deep tech, has led a ₹18 crore seed funding round in Misochain Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based aerospace deep-tech company focused on developing indigenous, flight-critical aircraft components for defence and global aviation platforms.
The fresh capital will be used to setup a manufacturing facility to produce critical aerospace components for the aerospace industry, accelerate product certification programmes and scale engineering and testing capabilities (MRO) for UAV manufacturers, and global aerospace customers, strengthening Misochain’s role in India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
Founded in 2019 by former Honeywell Aerospace engineers Rama Kandula and Murali Krishnan, Misochain develops flight-critical aircraft components that continue to be largely imported into India. Its portfolio includes air data probes, vibration isolation systems, actuators, and solenoid valves, which feed directly into aircraft flight management and control systems. Misochain is pioneering the indigenous development of Air Data Probes in India in a tightly regulated segment characterized by high certification thresholds, long supplier tenures on aircraft platforms, and strong long-term continuity.
“India has built strong aircraft and defence platforms, yet many flight-critical subsystems still depend on overseas suppliers,” said Rama Kandula, Co-Founder and CEO, Misochain Technologies. “This investment allows us to advance certification timelines, expand engineering depth, and move closer to serial deployment across defence and aviation platforms.”
“Aerospace manufacturing is defined by certification depth, execution discipline, and long product lifecycles,” said Ankit Kedia, Founder and Lead Investor at Capital-A. “Misochain has crossed a key inflection point by achieving technical qualification for flight-critical systems, placing it among a small group of suppliers with durable relevance to India’s defence ecosystem and global aerospace supply chains.
The investment comes amid growing momentum in India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem. Global Tier-1 aerospace companies are expanding sourcing from India to diversify supply chains, while defence indigenisation programmes and the rapid growth of the UAV segment are increasing demand for certified, locally manufactured aerospace components. Industry estimates indicate a multi-hundred-crore domestic opportunity for air data probes over the next five years, alongside a significantly larger global market for related components.
Misochain operates a capital-efficient manufacturing model, outsourcing precision machining to qualified partners while retaining design, assembly, testing, certification, and intellectual property in-house. The company is AS9100D certified for both design and manufacturing and has developed proprietary probe-heating technologies designed for extreme flight environments.
Misochain is part of MaXcel, the hardware and industrial technology accelerator run by Capital-A and SanchiConnect, supporting startups building engineering-led manufacturing solutions.
