The 'Food on Train' service, which Swiggy offers for food delivery and fast commerce, was expanded on February 26th. It worked with IRCTC to provide service to 152 stations in India over the course of a year. The increasing desire for different culinary options across the country is the driving force for this surge, as it was serving approximately 70 stations a year ago.

The business has also stated its intention to prioritise diversity by increasing its investment in transportation hubs in India. Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), Kharagpur (West Bengal), and Itarsi (Madhya Pradesh) are among the regional stops that now offer cuisine. The 'Food on Train' service, which Swiggy offers, has been reinforced. The report stated that there will be 152 stations in the network by February 2026, up from 70 stations in February 2025, a growth of 117%.

Holi Special Food Menu by Swiggy

From February 28th to March 8th, Swiggy will offer a special Holi menu to customers who are travelling. Also, the company's 'Train-Friendly Dishes' section, which is designed for fast food convenience, has been increased, according to the statement.

According to Deepak Maloo, Swiggy's VP of culinary strategy, customer experience, and new initiatives, the company's statewide expansion couldn't be timed better for the Holi travel rush. Swiggy is going all in on transportation hubs across India as a way to promote diversity.
