ABB Selects TCS for Multi-Year AI-Powered Global Network Operations Transformation
TCS has renewed its two-decade cooperation with ABB with a multi-million, multi-year deal to modernise the company’s worldwide network operations with AI. TCS to provide network-as-a-service capability at the end-to-end level in support of ABB’s Future Network Model plan.
As part of its plans to revamp its worldwide network operations, Tata Consultancy Services has broadened its partnership with electrification and automation industry heavyweight ABB. The engagement is the next step in a reliable 20-year collaboration. In this multi-million dollar, multi-year agreement, TCS will utilise an integrated network-as-a-service architecture to expand its responsibilities beyond managing infrastructure and applications to providing end-to-end global network operations.
ABB will be able to scale service delivery, improve user experience, increase operational efficiency, fortify security and compliance, and get ready for digital operations of the future with the support of TCS
TCS to Benefit ABB’s Future Network Model
The Future Network Model program, an enterprise-wide effort to convert ABB's worldwide network into a centralised, standardised digital infrastructure, is the key focus of this collaboration. The global network ecosystem of ABB will be designed, integrated, and operated by TCS as an AI-driven, secure, and cutting-edge service as part of their strategic partnership with ABB. Additionally, it will coordinate ABB's environment with several vendors to guarantee consistent and smooth operations all across the globe.
A safe, scalable, and service-driven design will supersede disjointed network infrastructures as a result of the initiative. It will integrate Service management and integration (SIAM) through a centralised control structure. In addition, it will provide a worldwide center for network management, superior security features to protect infrastructure, and updated LAN, WAN, and software-defined WAN systems. With TCS, ABB's network services will be able to provide high-performance connection, which will allow for end-to-end monitoring and orchestrations.
TCS-ABB Bond Continues to Produce Transformational Programmes
The TCS-ABB cooperation has been instrumental in delivering numerous transformational programmes that have fortified ABB's technological base over the last 20 years. Two examples are speeding up the transition to and adoption of cloud computing and integrating various enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems into a single SAP platform. Taken as a whole, these projects demonstrate a strong, results-orientated collaboration that adapts to ABB's changing business objectives.
According to Alec Joannou, ABB's Group CIO, the Future Network Model is a major step in laying a solid digital groundwork for the company's worldwide operations. It is vital for ABB to have a safe, resilient environment that is in line with their long-termresults-orientated goals as their business changes. We share a commitment to delivering exceptional service, always striving to improve, and establishing strong capabilities to back up our strategic goals, which is why we have partnered with TCS. It has been an honour for TCS to accompany ABB on its transformation path for more than 20 years, according to Anupam Singhal, President, Manufacturing, TCS.
The Future Network Model is the next stage in this collaboration. An intelligent and resilient network backbone may be built by integrating AI into the network operations model, utilising secure digital infrastructure, and tapping into TCS' extensive domain experience. This is all part of TCS's "infrastructure to intelligence" strategy. As part of ABB's efforts to become a future-ready corporation, the company will enable network systems that can perceive, adapt, and improve continually through this engagement. This will boost reliability, security, user experience, and scalability.
