Accenture Completes Acquisition of UK AI Firm Faculty and Names New CTO
Accenture has acquired UK AI firm Faculty, integrating its 400+ experts and naming co-founder Marc Warner as CTO, boosting Accenture’s AI capabilities and accelerating safe, large-scale adoption of AI for clients globally.
Accenture, the global technology and consulting giant, has officially completed its acquisition of Faculty, a London‑based artificial intelligence (AI) company. The move strengthens Accenture’s capabilities in AI technology and brings more than 400 AI experts into its workforce.
This marks a major step in Accenture’s strategy to help organisations adopt AI safely and effectively across industries.
What Happened: Deal Finalised and Integration Begins
Accenture announced on 16 March 2026 that it has completed the acquisition of Faculty, a UK specialist in advanced AI, including AI safety, strategy and implementation services.
The deal, first agreed earlier in January, brings Faculty fully under Accenture’s umbrella. Faculty’s team of more than 400 professionals, including AI engineers and data scientists, has now become part of Accenture’s global workforce.
Financial terms of the purchase were not officially disclosed in the latest announcement, although industry reports have suggested valuations near the $1 billion mark.
Leadership Change: Faculty CEO Becomes Accenture CTO
As part of the integration, Dr. Marc Warner, co‑founder and CEO of Faculty, has taken on a new role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Accenture. He has also joined Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
Julie Sweet, Accenture’s Chair and Chief Executive Officer, said the move will “advance our strategy to be our clients’ reinvention partner of choice” and to lead in “the safe, widespread adoption of AI.”
Dr. Warner said the acquisition creates one of the few organisations worldwide equipped to help companies, especially those that are not “AI‑native”, adapt to rapid technological changes.
What Faculty Brings: AI Skills and Technology
Faculty, founded in 2014, has built a reputation for providing AI solutions to both public and private organisations, focusing strongly on AI safety and ethical deployment.
One of its core technologies, the Frontier decision intelligence platform, will now be part of Accenture’s suite of enterprise tools. This platform helps organisations link data, models and business processes more effectively, enabling better decision‑making at scale.
Faculty previously worked on high‑profile projects, including predictive systems for the UK’s National Health Service during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
Why This Matters: AI Strategy and Growth Focus
The acquisition comes at a pivotal time as companies worldwide push to adopt AI responsibly and at scale. Accenture has been investing heavily in AI services, restructuring teams and aiming to lead in delivering practical and secure AI solutions for clients.
By bringing in Faculty’s team and technology, and appointing Dr Warner as CTO, Accenture is signalling that AI will play a central role in its future strategy across consulting, technology and operations services.
