Adani, Google to build AI data centre in Visakhapatnam as Andhra Govt allots 480 acres

A 'notified partner' of Raiden Infotech India, Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, has been granted 480 acres of property in the districts of Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli by the Andhra Pradesh government. One GW AI Data Centre will be established in the state by Google subsidiary Raiden Infotech India. Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, AdaniConneX India Pvt Ltd, Adani Power India Pvt Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Nxtra Data Ltd, and Nxtra Vizag Limited (a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel) were previously listed by the Google corporation as "notified partners" to the state government.

Specifics of the Deal

Raiden has expressly asked that Adani Infra (India), the principal notified partner, be given all three of the land parcels specified by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC), provided that the survey is completed and possession is turned over.

According to the order issued on December 2, the government has given permission for the transfer of 480 acres of land in the districts of Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli to M/s Adani Infra (India) Private Limited after carefully reviewing the proposal and receiving approval from the council of ministers during its meeting on November 28, 2025. Over time, Raiden Infotech India Pvt Ltd, which is investing over INR 87,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh to build data centres in phases, will receive INR 22,000 crore in incentives from the state government.

What Government Order (GO) States?

The GO claims that Raiden has asked the government to permit both itself and its notified partners to make use of all the advantages that the administration of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had pledged for the Data Centre Project. The GO said that this project will be constructed in accordance with the same strict guidelines that underpin Google services like Workspace, YouTube, and Search.

The power consumption of a data centre is commonly used to determine its capacity. It is anticipated that the projected 1 GW (1000 MW of electricity usage at full capacity operation) facility in Visakhapatnam will consume over half of Mumbai's yearly electricity consumption. Although Google had previously declared an investment of USD 10 billion, it has since climbed to USD 15 billion, according to CM Naidu.
