Amazon India Boosts Health Benefits for 90,000 Delivery Partners
The health and insurance benefits for over 90,000 delivery colleagues across Amazon India's operations network have been enhanced, the company announced. Coverage for common medical expenses can be obtained through the benefits' outpatient department (OPD) coverage. Compensation for both temporary and permanent disabilities, as well as hospitalisation support for inpatient care, will be provided to employees.
Therefore, the business is making sure that the injured party's urgent medical expenses and lost wages are paid for. All last-mile programs will roll out these advantages to associates. Group personal accident coverage has been enhanced to 10 lakh INR, out-of-pocket medical costs can now be covered up to INR 10,000, and mediclaim coverage can be increased up to INR 1.5 lakh.
Amazon Driving Healthier Eco System in India
In addition, tens of thousands of Amazon delivery associates have been offered free health screenings through Amazon and a third-party insurer's nationwide health camps. Among the many vital health services offered by the medical camps are checkups for the eyes, teeth, and body mass index (BMI), as well as consultations with general practitioners.
Amazon has set up camps at its last-mile delivery stations all over India so that delivery associates can use these services. All they need is a government-issued ID. These endeavours are all a part of Amazon's recently declared investment of more than INR 2,800 crore. With this investment, Amazon will enhance the safety, health, and financial well-being of its associates, all while scaling up one of the most dependable, fastest, and secure logistics networks in the country.
Each year, up to three members of an employee's immediate family are covered by the wellness benefits. The health benefit package includes two complimentary in-person office visits per family per year and unlimited virtual doctor consultations in multiple languages. Tools that promote preventative health and exercise are also available, as are discounts on diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, dental care, and vision care.
