Apple Sets New Record in India with All-Time High Quarterly Revenue Fueled by Soaring iPhone Sales
With unprecedented iPhone sales in the second-largest smartphone market in the world, where demand for high-end devices is setting new records, Apple earned its highest-ever quarterly revenue in India in the three months ending in September. In India, Apple saw consistent, strong demand for the iPhone, particularly during the quarter's month-long holiday season.
In addition to the Apple Watch and Mac laptops and desktops, the business provided customers with significant discounts and simple financing to encourage them to upgrade, particularly to its most recent iPhone 17 series. Despite supply shortages brought on by strong demand in the December quarter, Apple has forecast double-digit growth in worldwide iPhone sales for the current fiscal year. Revenues will increase by 10–12% overall.
Tim Cook’s Message During Earnings’ Call
During the business's fourth-quarter results call, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, informed analysts that the company established records for revenue in almost every geographic area it monitors, including emerging countries, and set an all-time revenue record in India.
The company's fiscal year runs from October to September. According to Cook, the business expanded in the great majority of markets. In dozens of markets, including the US, Canada, Latin America, Western Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Korea, and South Asia, Apple tracked and set revenue records for the September quarter.
Cook added, "We also set an all-time revenue record in India and a September quarter revenue record in emerging markets." Demand for Apple's new models and current customers upgrading to its high-end Pro models supported the company's impressive quarterly performance in India, which raised average selling prices.
In the first two weeks, sales of new models increased by about 19% year-over-year. Apple reported a 4-5% year-over-year increase in average selling prices, which drove quarterly revenues, along with the sale of additional Pro models.
Apple Shipped 5 Million iPhones from India
According to IDC, the business is expected to have shipped a record 5 million iPhones during the September quarter, ranking the brand among the top five in India. With rising sales of its more expensive Pro models contributing to the record profits, the research company predicted a 20–25% year-over-year increase in shipment numbers.
The main factor driving the success is the steep discounts offered on the older iPhone 16/15 models, particularly on e-commerce sites. Furthermore, more than 10% of Apple's total Q3 2025 shipments came from the recently released iPhone 17 series, according to IDC. IDC predicts that Apple will ship 14–15 million iPhones over the course of the year, setting a new volume record for the company in India. In the September quarter, iPhone volumes increased 61% sequentially, with older-generation handsets making up roughly 80% of shipments overall, according to Cybermedia Research.
