The new fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) factory that Dabur India is building in Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu, was officially inaugurated on 12 February. Located in the Tamil Nadu town of Tindivanam, the Tindivanam plant will mark Dabur's entry into the southern Indian market. In a press release, the company announced that it has committed to investing INR 400 crore, with approximately one-third of that investment already underway.

At the Tindivanam plant, Dabur's Red Toothpaste and Meswak, among others, will be made in the first phase. In addition, it will produce hair oils under the Vatika and Anmol brands as well as the Dabur Gulabari and Vatika brands. Tindivanam will become an integral part of Dabur's southern manufacturing network as production expands to include Real Juices, Amla Hair Oil, and other brands.

MK Stalin Performed Groundbreaking Ceremony of Dabur’s New Unit

Chief Minister M K Stalin of Tamil Nadu presided at the new unit's groundbreaking ceremony electronically. Along with the entire team from Guidance Tamil Nadu and SIPCOT, the ceremony was attended by Minister for Industries Dr T R B Raja and principal secretary (industries) Arun Roy. Dabur is thrilled to commence construction on its first manufacturing site in South India, according to Mohit Malhotra, chief executive officer of Dabur India.

By doing so, Dabur can fortify its supply chain and make "Made in Tamil Nadu" the driving force behind its expansion in the state. This revolutionary development marks a turning point in the development of Dabur's future, which will include production that is more efficient, environmentally friendly, and brought closer to the end user. "The brand can serve South India with more speed and freshness thanks to Tamil Nadu, which gives us the basis to scale with agility," added Malhotra.

Dabur’s Unit will Generate New Job Opportunities

Approximately 250 individuals can find direct employment at this manufacturing business. Communities in and surrounding the factory will also benefit from the thousands of indirect jobs it will generate. Furthermore, the facility will run on entirely renewable energy and adhere to ecological principles.

The Tindivanam plant embodies Dabur's aim for responsible, future-ready manufacturing, according to Saurabh Lal, global operations head of Dabur India. Using only renewable energy sources, the facility will showcase cutting-edge technology. On top of that, it will encourage a more diverse and inclusive workforce, with women making up the majority. To ensure sustainability, efficiency, and scale, this unit will serve as a lynchpin in Dabur's production network in the south.
