Dhruva Space Raises ₹60 Crore in Pre-Series B Round

Dhruva Space is a spacetech startup founded in 2012 by Chaitanya Dora Surapureddy, Sanjay Nekkanti, Abhay Egoor and Krishna Teja Penamakuru. It builds end-to-end space engineering solutions, including small satellites, ground stations, launch solutions and mission support, for commercial, government and academic customers.

The startup has raised ₹60 crore (~$6.3 million) from the Antariksh Venture Capital Fund (AVCF). This is the maiden deployment from the SIDBI-managed ₹1,600 crore fund, anchored by a ₹1,000 crore commitment from space regulator IN-SPACe. The cheque is part of an ongoing pre-Series B round that stands at ₹275 crore to date, comprising ₹150 crore in equity and ₹125 crore in debt.

Dhruva Space will use the capital to expand its satellite manufacturing capabilities, develop space infrastructure and advance critical technologies. It also plans to execute customer programmes across domestic and international markets. The AVCF, first announced in the Union Budget 2024, is expected to back about 35 startups over the next five years.

Zetwerk Secures SEBI Nod for IPO

Contract manufacturer Zetwerk has received SEBI's approval for its initial public offering. Founded in 2018 by Amrit Acharya, Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Vishal Chaudhary, Ankit Fatehpuria and Rahul Sharma, the firm runs a technology-enabled manufacturing platform. It serves sectors including energy, electronics, defence, aerospace and capital goods.

TCS Adds Over 9,200 Employees in Q1 FY27

Tata Consultancy Services grew its headcount by more than 9,200 in the first quarter of FY27, taking its total workforce to 5,93,798 employees. Voluntary attrition in its IT services business, measured on a last-twelve-months basis, stood at 13.6%. The company has broadly maintained that level in recent quarters, according to its quarterly factsheet.

Delhi HC Orders Meta to Remove Zee's Pirated Content

The Delhi High Court has passed a John Doe order directing Meta to take down multiple Facebook URLs allegedly hosting Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited's copyrighted content. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani issued the ex parte ad interim order in a copyright infringement suit against several Facebook profiles. The court declined to block the accounts at this stage, but said it could reconsider after the defendants file their replies.
