On July 30, IKEA India will launch its second city store, further expanding its footprint in the Delhi-NCR region. The Swedish furniture and home products giant is speeding up its retail footprint expansion in India. The company's target number of outlets in India is 30 by 2030. Opening at DLF Avenue at Saket in New Delhi, the second city shop will have an area of 30,000 sq. ft (2,800 sq. m).

Additionally, the store will serve customers in Central Delhi and South Delhi, among other areas. According to the company, there are approximately 3,000 things for consumers to peruse, with about 1,400 of those items being ready for quick grab and go. But the whole 6,900-item IKEA catalogue is available for purchase through the company's website, mobile app, and Shop by Phone service.

Why IKEA Opted for Delhi For Expansion?

According to Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, the Delhi-National Capital Region is an area with a lot of potential for expansion. According to Antoni, the brand's success depends on Delhi, one of the most powerful markets in India. In order to build a meaningful experience, the teams from IKEA went door-to-door in South Delhi to learn about people's everyday struggles, goals, and desires.

Key elements of IKEA's expansion strategy will also include the enormous shops that the corporation is building in Noida and Gurgaon. The opening of Band in Delhi is a major step toward IKEA's goal of increasing its accessibility to customers in this strategic area. In the West Delhi region, an IKEA shop with a city model has previously opened. The business's expansion plan in the region is being shaped by customer data from its first Delhi-NCR location, according to the company.
