Razorpay Partners with Google Pay to Enable Global Payments for Exporters
Razorpay has incorporated Google Pay to facilitate cross-border transactions. As a result, Indian exporters can now offer wallet-based checkout, which would greatly enhance the success rate of payments in global e-commerce. According to Razorpay, Indian companies may now accept payments from customers all across the world thanks to its integration with Google Pay.
With the launch of this platform, the company has broken new ground in the local payment aggregator industry by providing a card-based wallet experience for international transactions. By partnering with Razorpay, Indian exporters would be able to bypass long-standing payment checkout restrictions and get closer to their overseas consumers. If exporters enable Google Pay at checkout, customers will have a more streamlined and secure payment experience without having to input their credit card details or go through extra authentication procedures.
Why It’s a Win-Win Deal for Razorpay and Google Pay
As more and more people opt for faster checkout choices, digital wallets are expected to make up around 65% of all e-commerce transactions worldwide by 2030. Despite the widespread adoption of platforms like Google Pay, many international checkouts still only accept card payments. Hence. This leaves Indian exporters with little choice except to accept customers' cards, leading to increased cart abandonment and financial losses.
With this agreement, Indian businesses can now connect with customers where they already are – on their phones – with a seamless one-tap experience. Gone are the days of card-led flows requiring CVV, OTP, and manual entry. The timing of this integration is perfect for the export and digital payment scene in India. India is projected to become an export economy worth $2 trillion by 2030, with total exports reaching $825 billion in FY25.
Indian companies are shifting their focus away from establishing a strong local presence, according to Rahul Kothari, COO of Razorpay. They aim to make things that people all across the world can use. Razorpay considers it its mission to provide the monetary infrastructure necessary to make this a reality.
Razorpay Expanding its Global Payment Network
Razorpay International Payments is the central entity here; it runs on a licence from the Reserve Bank of India known as the Payment Aggregator Cross Border (PA-CB). With this license, Razorpay can legally process incoming and outbound international money transfers.
This means that innovations like Google Pay at checkout will have a stronger compliance foundation. Continuing its mission to facilitate international digital payments for Indian exporters, this launch expands upon Razorpay's previous integration with Apple Pay.
