RIL to Set Up 1 GW AI Data Centre in Andhra Pradesh, Expands Investment Commitments
Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, unveiled a significant new investment in Andhra Pradesh on 13 November when it signed an agreement with the state government to build a 1 GW artificial intelligence (AI) data centre. One of Asia's most potent AI infrastructure networks will be created by this facility, which will function as a twin to the company's gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Jamnagar.
In order to house the most cutting-edge GPUs (graphics processing units), TPUs (tensor processing units), and AI processors in the world, Reliance announced that it would construct a fully modular, future-ready 1 GW AI data centre. In the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Minister for IT and Industries Nara Lokesh, and Executive Director P M S Prasad of Reliance Industries, the agreement was inked on the first day of the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam.
Reliance Expanding its Footprints AP
By providing pro-level AI capabilities to students, farmers, businesses, and families via the MyJio platform, the company emphasised its goal of democratising access to AI. Reliance will also build a 6 GWp solar power project in Andhra Pradesh to guarantee clean and sustainable energy for the future AI infrastructure. In all of its major businesses, including retail, Jio, and its oil and gas operations in Kakinada, the company reaffirmed its strong commitment to Andhra Pradesh. In the areas of retail, digital services, and oil and gas, Reliance has already made over $25 billion in investments in the state.
Additionally, Reliance revealed a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool that will occupy 170 acres that APIIC has allocated. The plant, which is outfitted with automated technologies, will produce chocolates, snacks, atta, packaged drinking water, and beverages. It is anticipated that the project will create thousands of direct and indirect jobs throughout the area.
In support of India's clean energy objectives, the company will establish integrated compressed biogas (CBG) centres to boost natural farming, revitalise soil health, and boost rural economies in tandem with the state's green-growth ambition. In April of this year, Reliance began construction on its first CBG facility in Prakasam.
AP State Focusing on Faster Clearance for Major Projects
Minister Lokesh stated earlier in the day that the state is concentrating on expediting project clearance. Speed is the most crucial necessity for a business. State governments are prepared to collaborate with the Indian government to implement reforms and modifications to laws that will guarantee your company not only survives but flourishes in our wonderful nation.
According to the chief minister, Andhra Pradesh is embarking on a new age of industrial revival, sustainability, and technology-driven growth. He applauded Reliance's historic investments, which support the state government's goal of establishing AP as a global centre for advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and AI innovation. These initiatives will speed up the state's transition to a greener and more prosperous future, create high-quality jobs, and provide our young people with new opportunities.
