Andhra Pradesh's industry and manufacturing aspirations have been greatly enhanced by the selection of AP for the new production expansion project by renowned motorbike maker Royal Enfield. Consequently, this is the first significant expansion outside of Tamil Nadu for the corporation since its founding in 1901.

A state-of-the-art manufacturing plant would be established at Satyavedu in Tirupati district, close to the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border. The company plans to invest around INR 2,200 crore in two phases to finance the project. This project will bolster India's status as a worldwide hub for premium motorcycle manufacturing and add over 900,000 motorcycles to Royal Enfield's production capacity. The project was approved during this week's meeting of the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), which was chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Royal Enfield Received Strong Backing from AP Govt

Two villages in Satyavedu mandal, Vanelluru (233.76 acres) and Rallakuppam (42.38 acres), totalling 267 acres, have been allotted to the project by the Andhra Pradesh government. There will be about 5,000 direct and indirect jobs created by the factory, which would make it Royal Enfield's second manufacturing location in India.

Phase one of the project will transfer the company's supplier ecosystem to Andhra Pradesh with the addition of a dedicated vendor park to the core manufacturing unit. This will accelerate the establishment of a state-of-the-art automotive manufacturing cluster. It is anticipated that the first phase will be finished by 2029, and the second by 2032.

Royal Enfield’s Project to Boost AP’s Economy

In the southern part of Andhra Pradesh, the initiative is supposed to speed up industrial development even more. Additionally, it will further solidify the state's position as an attractive location for substantial investments in manufacturing spanning several industries, such as transportation, electronics, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Andhra Pradesh's Minister of Education, Information Technology and Electronics, and Human Resources Development Nara Lokesh commented on the news, saying that Royal Enfield is more than just a motorcycle company.

It is a representation of quality, craftsmanship, and legacy that will last for generations. Welcoming this legendary enterprise to Andhra Pradesh is an honour for the state government. Andhra Pradesh's dedication to being a top manufacturing destination in India, along with its fast business process and solid infrastructure ecosystem, has been endorsed by this investment. All aspects of this initiative, from the vendor ecosystem to the auxiliary sectors, will contribute to the state's goal of becoming a world-class advanced manufacturing hub and automobile manufacturing powerhouse.
