NVIDIA Backs Indian AI Startup Simplismart In $14 Million Series B Round Led By Dallas Venture Capital

Bengaluru-based AI infrastructure startup Simplismart has raised $14 million in a Series B funding round led by Dallas Venture Capital (DVC), with participation from NVIDIA, Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax. The all-primary round values the company at around $100 million.

Founded in 2022 by Amritanshu Jain and Devansh Ghatak, Simplismart builds software that sits between AI models and the computing infrastructure on which they run. Its platform helps businesses deploy, fine-tune, scale and monitor AI models while optimising GPU usage for cost, speed and performance.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its presence in the US and other international markets, grow its team and further develop its AI inference and orchestration platform. It also plans to deepen partnerships with cloud providers and work on sovereign AI infrastructure.

Simplismart’s AI Inference Platform

As companies increasingly deploy generative AI applications, the cost and complexity of running models on GPUs has become a major challenge. Simplismart aims to optimise this layer by determining how workloads should run based on requirements such as latency, cost and throughput.

The startup claims its technology helped AI video platform InVideo reduce GPU serving costs by 56%. Its customer base also includes HeyGen, Higgsfield and enterprise AI startup Ema. Indian cloud provider Yotta uses Simplismart's technology for the serverless inference layer of its Shakti Studio platform.

Simplismart says its annualised revenue run rate grew 14-fold over the past six months to an eight-figure sum. More than half of its revenue now comes from the US, although the company has more customers in India.

NVIDIA’s Strategic Participation

NVIDIA's participation is notable because Simplismart's software is designed to help companies make more efficient use of GPU infrastructure.

Beyond its investment, NVIDIA has been working with Simplismart's engineering team on technical integrations, including its inference software. The chipmaker has also helped introduce Simplismart to potential customers and partners, according to the company.

Simplismart says it is also working with NVIDIA on opportunities around sovereign AI infrastructure, where cloud providers can turn their GPU fleets into managed AI services while allowing customers to retain greater control over where their models and data run.

Founders And Expansion Plans

Amritanshu Jain, CEO and co-founder, previously worked at Oracle, while Devansh Ghatak, co-founder, worked at Google. The two met while studying at BITS Pilani and founded Simplismart in 2022. The company currently has 58 employees.

With the new funding, Simplismart plans to increase its focus on the US market, expand its team and continue investing in its inference platform as demand for more efficient AI infrastructure grows.

The round comes as startups and enterprises increasingly look for ways to reduce the cost of deploying AI models, particularly as GPU demand and AI infrastructure spending continue to rise.
