As part of their joint global AI infrastructure effort, Stargate, OpenAI will be the first customer of the data centre business in India. The collaboration will be starting with 100 megawatts of capacity, according to Tata Consultancy Services and OpenAI.

Major investors have sponsored Stargate, a $500 billion, multi-year plan to construct artificial intelligence data centres for training and inference. This is a huge win for TCS, which last year revealed intentions to spend up to $7 billion on a 1-gigawatt data centre unit in India, marking a strategic change.

India’s AI Infra Attracting Global Players

Spending on expensive AI infrastructure has increased in India. Not only are local businesses like Reliance and Adani Group increasing their investments, but so are global powerhouses like Amazon, Google, Meta Platforms, and Microsoft. In a different collaboration, Tata Group, the parent company of TCS, also intends to use ChatGPT Enterprise.

In the coming years, this rollout will spread throughout the entire organisation, beginning with hundreds of thousands of workers. ChatGPT's parent business is OpenAI. According to OpenAI, the number of weekly ChatGPT users in India has surpassed 100 million.

MakeMyTrip Partners with OpenAI

On February 18th, MakeMyTrip announced a partnership with OpenAI to improve AI-led trip discovery and collect searches with high intent. As part of the partnership, MakeMyTrip will integrate additional AI capabilities into its app by leveraging OpenAI's APIs. By integrating with the company's generative AI planning assistant, Myra, travellers would be able to seamlessly transition from conversational inspiration to booking.

With this change, the company claims it will be the go-to platform for AI-powered vacation planning. This will be accomplished by converting natural-sounding questions into options that are prepared for purchase across various services, including airfare, hotels, and auxiliary items.

OpenAI and Eternal Announce AI Partnership

On February 17th, the food delivery firm announced that it has deepened its strategic partnership with OpenAI in order to boost its AI capabilities company-wide. A number of its partner platforms and internal systems, including Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, will be improved by the AI. The partnership will centre on integrating AI into Eternal's app portfolio, and it will also encompass Eternal's Feeding India project and AI-native business, Nugget.

The collaboration will also highlight how important AI is becoming in India's e-commerce industry. To further investigate potential new avenues of engagement between its platforms and its clients and business associates, Eternal will collaborate with OpenAI's Enterprise API. It plans to include sophisticated coding models into its own AI orchestration platform and further integrate sophisticated AI capabilities into partner applications.
