Strict Action: TCS Suspends Employees Over Nashik Harassment Allegations
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a prominent IT firm, stated on April 12 that it has always had a zero-tolerance policy on harassment and coercion. Workers at the company's Nashik office who were accused of sexual harassment have been suspended, the firm confirmed. The eight women who worked at the Nashik branch of the international corporation have accused the company of sexual harassment and coercion to convert to Islam, prompting the clarification.
The police established a special investigation team (SIT) earlier this week to look into the eight employee allegations. The workers asserted that their senior coworkers subjected them to psychological and sexual harassment. Adding insult to injury, the human resources department did nothing when they voiced their grievances. Since then, seven individuals, including the female HR manager of the company, have been apprehended by the authorities.
TCS’ Zero Tolerance Policy
According to a statement from the firm, TCS has an established policy of absolutely no tolerance for harassment or any kind of obligation. At all times, the company has prioritised the health and safety of its workers. Quick and decisive action was taken by the company upon becoming aware of the situation in Nashik.
According to a representative from the company, the employees under investigation are currently suspended while the inquiry is underway. Additionally, he mentioned that the firm is actively working with local law enforcement and that any subsequent measures will be determined by the outcome of this inquiry.
TCS Restarts Salary Increments
In keeping with tradition, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has reinstated its April compensation increases. Consequently, following a postponement last year, the company is bringing back its conventional assessment cycle, with top performers slated to get double-digit salary hikes. Despite the lack of transparency surrounding the total amount of increases, the corporation has announced that all qualified employees will begin receiving increments on April 1st.
According to Chief Human Resources Officer Sudeep Kunnumal, the company has offered yearly raises for all qualified workers, with those who perform very well receiving increases in the double digits. Following a five-month delay and implementation of compensation increases in the previous cycle in September 2025, TCS has returned to its typical evaluation timeline with this decision. During that period, most employees received raises ranging from 4.5% to 7%, with top performers receiving even larger increases.
