Launching an all-electric taxi service in the Delhi-National Capital Region, Green SM, a Vietnamese ride-hailing provider, has broken into the Indian market. After this launch, the company, which is supported by Vingroup, the Vietnamese conglomerate that also owns VinFast, gradually expands to other cities. Green SM's entry into the market will pit it against well-established competitors like Ola and Uber in the nation.

The VinFast Limo Green, an electric minivan designed for business passenger transportation, will be used to provide the ride-hailing services. It has seven seats, and with its cyan paint, green SM branding, and wheel covers for steel wheels, this model is perfect for the fleet. A 60.13 kWh battery and one front-wheel-drive electric motor produce 201 horsepower and 280 Newton-metres of torque, respectively, to propel the Limo Green. The maximum range of the MPV, as certified by ARAI, is 517 km when fully charged.

Other Features of Green SM

Among the onboard safety measures that Green SM claims its vehicles will include are external and interior cameras. Further, it will be equipped with monitoring equipment that is helped by artificial intelligence and buttons that may be used in an emergency. Customers can use the company's smartphone app to make bookings and hail vehicles directly in service areas. Last year, VinFast, an electric vehicle manufacturer owned by Vingroup, debuted the VF6, VF7, and VF MPV 7 in the Indian market.

Between June 5 and June 11, Green SM announced a 50% discount (up to INR 250) on all rides in celebration of the debut. Green SM expanded its operations to five markets with the addition of India. Green SM ran taxi services in five different countries: Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.
