Adventure Meets Technology: How bucketlistt.com Is Transforming India’s Travel Experiences
bucketlistt.com is a travel experience marketplace helping travellers discover and book verified adventure, leisure, cultural, and spiritual experiences across India.
In India’s adventure travel market, where bookings are still often handled through phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and cash payments, bucketlistt.com is working to make experiences easier and safer to discover and book. Founded in 2025 under Kovans Ventures Private Limited, the Rishikesh-based travel platform connects travellers with curated adventure, leisure, cultural, and spiritual experiences across India.
Alongside bucketlistt.com, the company runs OkGhumo, a software platform that helps experience operators manage bookings, live inventory, agents, payments, settlements, and daily operations. Together, the two platforms aim to bring both sides of the experience industry online, giving travellers access to verified experiences while helping operators manage their businesses more efficiently.
In this article, let's explore bucketlistt.com, its founders, services, business and revenue model, marketing strategy, funding, challenges, achievements, and future plans.

bucketlistt.com: About
bucketlistt.com is a curated marketplace where travellers can discover and book verified experiences across India, including adventure activities, cultural experiences, and leisure activities. The company also operates OkGhumo, a software platform built for experience operators to manage bookings, inventory, agents, payments, settlements, and daily operations.
bucketlistt.com focuses on creating experiences rather than simply listing operators. Before onboarding an operator, the company checks licences, equipment certification, safety records, insurance, and operations on the ground. Its team is also based in Rishikesh, allowing it to stay closely connected with both travellers and experience operators.
bucketlistt.com: Founders and Team

Nitant and Shubham met in 11th standard, sitting on the same bench. Nitant chose CA first and Shubham followed him, and they did their CA and PwC articleship together. Divyam and Nitant were born and brought up in the same society and have known each other since childhood, which is how Shubham met them. Three friends, none of them 25 yet.
- Shubham Makhecha, Co-founder and CEO: Chartered Accountant (CA Final All India Rank 36, CA Foundation All India Rank 46), B.Com, articleship at PwC, management consulting at Accenture, Management Development Programme at ISB Hyderabad. Before bucketlistt.com, ran the pitch, financials and due diligence for a Shark Tank India Season 4 startup that secured a Shark deal. Leads product, design, marketing, fundraising, finance and automation.
- Nitant Desai, Co-founder, CFO and COO: Chartered Accountant with audit and deals experience at PwC across power, infrastructure and waste management. Led 1,000+ participants as a trek leader during his articleship. Runs operations and finance, and marketing alongside me.
- Divyam Shah, Co-founder and CTO: Engineer, previously at Prepseed. Builds and runs the technology behind bucketlistt.com and OkGhumo.
Team and culture: The whole team moved from Ahmedabad to Rishikesh, and we started out as six people living together in one rented 3BHK. Today we are 7 full-time people, and we are hiring across marketing, SEO, tech, design, video and customer support, all based in Rishikesh. Our one hiring rule: no arrogance. We live by Stupid, Curious, Childish: ask the obvious questions, stay curious, and have fun doing it.
bucketlistt.com: Startup Story
Around the age of 21, in the middle of my CA, Shubham took roughly six months out and backpacked solo across 19 states and 5 union territories. He learnt rafting and kayaking in Rishikesh, surfing in Pondicherry, became a P3 paragliding pilot, volunteered at hostels and did a Vipassana. Every time he wanted to book something, it was the same story: a random WhatsApp number, cash in hand, and no way to know if the operator was safe or the price was fair. Shubham could book a flight in two taps, but the best part of every trip was the hardest to book. That is where bucketlistt.com started.
He came back, cleared CA Final with All India Rank 36, and joined Accenture as a management consulting analyst. The idea never left, so in January 2025 Shubham quit and incorporated Kovans Ventures in April 2025.
Research and validation: Instead of surveys, they went to the ground. Shubham moved to Rishikesh and sat in the bungee operators’ offices every single day for over a month, watching how bookings actually came in: phone calls, WhatsApp, paper registers. They printed posters and handed them out themselves, and Shubham spoke to around 500 travellers about why booking an experience was so hard.
Prototype: They launched bucketlistt.com in Rishikesh in December 2025 with handpicked operators and zero knowledge of paid ads. Most of their first Rs. 10 lakh in bookings came from those hand-distributed posters. The first real lesson came right after: operators missed their emails and WhatsApp messages and had no live inventory, so they were making about three calls per customer just to confirm a booking. That is why they built OkGhumo in February 2026. The first version was built in 7 days, right inside those operators’ offices.
The first people I told: Nitant, who sat on the same bench as Shubham in 11th standard. He brought in Divyam, his childhood friend. And Shubham's father, who, when he stepped away from the regular CA path and later left my job, simply said okay. He wanted Shubham to make his own mistakes. Plenty of people doubted it, the same way people once said he could not clear CA. Operators were sceptical too, until they saw the bookings come in.
bucketlistt.com: Vision and Mission
bucketlistt.com is a curated marketplace where travellers discover and book verified experiences across India, from bungee jumping and river rafting in Rishikesh to tandem skydiving at Mount Abu and front-row seats at the Ganga Aarti. Alongside it we run OkGhumo, the operating system adventure operators use to manage their bookings, inventory, agents, payments and daily operations. Think of what Zomato and Petpooja did together for food, built from the ground up for experiences.
Long term: Travel is three things: flights, hotels and experiences. Flights and hotels went online years ago, but over 90% of experience bookings in India still happen offline, over calls, WhatsApp and cash. We want to be the most trusted place to discover and book an experience in India, and the software every experience operator runs on.
Short term (next 1 to 2 years): Go from one city to four, starting with Manali and Bir after Rishikesh, take OkGhumo from a handful of operators to 100+, and write activity-wise safety SOPs, because no common standard exists for adventure activities in India today.
Core belief: The customer’s experience matters more than the booking number. If the experience is great, the bookings follow. The company values are three words: Stupid (never be afraid to ask the obvious question), Curious, and Childish (have fun doing it).
bucketlistt.com: Name, Tagline, and Logo
A bucket list is the list of things you want to do before you die. Founders wanted every traveller to see them as the place where those lists actually get ticked off, which is how the name bucketlistt came about. The double t has a simple story: the single-t domain was not available, so we added one more t.
Tagline: One bucketlist at a time.
Logo: A simple wordmark set in Be Vietnam Pro, in our brand red-orange (#EB493A). We kept it clean and bold so it works on a ticket, a poster or a 1-second reel outro.

bucketlistt.com: Products/Services
bucketlistt.com (for travellers)
- Adventure: bungee jumping, river rafting, Dronecraft rafting, giant swing, Asia’s first SCAD jump, paragliding and tandem skydiving
- Culture and spirituality: front-row seats at the Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh
- Leisure and family: go-karting, paintball, kids’ activities, plus pickup and drop between our office and activity sites
- 20+ activities in Rishikesh alone, with new destinations being added
OkGhumo (for experience operators)
- Booking management: every booking from every channel in one dashboard
- Live inventory and time slots, so operators never overbook and agents always see real availability
- Agent management, payments and settlements, direct booking links, digital waivers
- A mobile app for on-ground check-ins and field operations
Websites and Distribution for Operators
We have built websites for some of Rishikesh’s biggest adventure operators, and we distribute operators’ experiences to travel agents through a B2B rate card.
Pivot: not a pivot, more of an expansion. We started in December 2025 as a consumer marketplace only. By February 2026 it was clear the marketplace would not scale while the supply side was still offline, so we built OkGhumo. Today most of the volume we manage flows through OkGhumo, and it feeds live inventory into bucketlistt.com.
bucketlistt.com: USP and Innovation
- Curated, not just listed. Before onboarding any operator we check government licences, equipment certification, safety track record and insurance, and verify operations on the ground. A serious safety incident is an immediate disqualifier, no matter how much business the operator could bring.
- We sit inside the supply. Most platforms list an operator. The company run the operator’s business software. Because OkGhumo holds live inventory, travellers get real slots and instant confirmations instead of a callback.
- We are on the ground. The whole team lives in Rishikesh. Most travellers decide on activities after they arrive, so we are present at hostels, cafes and travel desks, and there is always a real person who picks up the phone.
- Founders who have done it. Shubham has done 10+ bungee jumps across every operator in Rishikesh, fly as a P3 paragliding pilot and have led 3,000+ trekkers. Nitant has led 1,000+ participants as a trek leader. They curate what they have tried themselves.
- Experiences you will not find elsewhere, like front-row Ganga Aarti seats and tandem skydiving at Mount Abu.
bucketlistt.com: Getting Initial Clients
Travellers: The first customers came from posters they printed and handed out themselves across Rishikesh. The first 100 customers came almost entirely that way. After that the founders taught themselves Meta and Google Ads from scratch and paired ads with WhatsApp, where their team talks to every lead personally. Offline never stopped: hostels, cafes, travel desks and colleges are still part of our mix. Today about one in five customers come through word of mouth, and the company wants to take that to one in two.
Operators (OkGhumo): They started with the biggest bungee operators in Rishikesh. They won them by sitting in their offices, solving their booking chaos first, and building their websites. Once the market leaders were on it, others followed, and OkGhumo has since gone beyond Rishikesh.
High-paying clients: on the operator side, it went after the largest operator in each category first, since their volume and reputation pull the rest of the market. On the traveller side, they focus on high-consideration experiences like skydiving and premium adventure, where trust matters more than the lowest price.
bucketlistt.com: Communication
- For operators, the software is the update. Every booking from bucketlistt.com, agents or their own website lands in their OkGhumo dashboard in real time, so nothing gets lost in a WhatsApp thread. The mobile app handles on-ground check-ins and settlements.
- For travellers, tickets and confirmations go out on WhatsApp, against a live slot, and a dedicated customer call executive follows up. They are also building a customer chatbot trained on our website and on how our team actually talks to customers on WhatsApp.
- Being physically present. The team lives in Rishikesh, minutes away from the operators. Most problems get solved face to face.
- Our hack for investors: A monthly MIS email with the numbers. It keeps them honest and keeps everyone in the loop.
bucketlistt.com: Customer Growth and Retention Strategies
Adventure is a low-frequency category. Most people visit Rishikesh once a year, so the company look at retention in three ways:
- Within the same trip: a traveller who books rafting often adds bungee or the Ganga Aarti. After every booking we send a WhatsApp follow-up suggesting the next experience, with a loyalty code for existing customers.
- Word of mouth: about 20% of our customers already come through referrals and recommendations, within months of launch and in a single city. We have a WhatsApp referral programme, and our goal is 50%.
- Operators: OkGhumo is used every day by the operators on it, because it runs their whole booking operation.
It is still early to report a trip-over-trip repeat rate, since most of our customers joined in the last few months. Their job is simply to make every experience good enough that people come back and bring friends.
bucketlistt.com: Challenges Faced
Seasonality. Adventure in India is seasonal. During the monsoon, rafting shuts and demand drops sharply. In the very first monsoon, from June to August 2026, the company made a conscious call: to cut their burn to protect the runway, accepted lower numbers, and used that time to strengthen supply and close the seed round, just in time for the season. The longer-term fix is more destinations with different peak seasons, so the business is never dependent on one river.
What worked
- Printing posters and handing them out ourselves
- Building OkGhumo in 7 days inside our operators’ offices
- Building websites for operators, which earned their trust faster than any pitch
- Learning Meta and Google Ads ourselves instead of hiring an agency
What did not work
- Growing Instagram mainly through paid boosts. When they paused spent, reach fell off a cliff. The company have since shifted to organic: SEO, AEO, YouTube documentaries and creator partnerships.
- Running a marketplace without software on the supply side. Three calls per booking does not scale, which is exactly what pushed them to build OkGhumo.

bucketlistt.com: Current Performance
- Bookings: Together, bucketlistt.com and OkGhumo have managed more than Rs. 22.5 crore in bookings in the last 10 months.
- Customers: Bucketlistt.com has helped 12,000+ customers book their experiences, crossing Rs. 70 lakh in bookings in a single month. OkGhumo has served 50,000+ customers through its operators.
- Word of mouth: About one in five customers.
- Operating locations: Operations in Rishikesh, registered office in Ahmedabad, and experiences live at Mount Abu.
- Funding: Rs. 1.17 crore pre-seed (including a Rs. 10 lakh Gujarat SSIP 2.0 grant), followed by a Rs. 7.6 crore seed round led by Kairon Capital, with Titan Capital, Divisa Family Office and Kunal Popat participating.
Next 1 to 2 years: Grow from one city to four, starting with Manali and Bir; take OkGhumo from a handful of operators to 100+; build their own safety SOPs for every activity we sell; and invest heavily in technology and organic discovery.
bucketlistt.com: Advisors and Mentors
Their investors are closely involved in how they build: Deepankur Malhotra, Founder and Managing Partner of Kairon Capital, which led company's seed round, and the Titan Capital team.
bucketlistt.com: Recognition and Achievements
Recognition: They received a Rs. 10 lakh grant from the Gujarat government under SSIP 2.0.
Biggest Achievement: Starting with hand-printed posters in one city, and in 10 months managing more than Rs. 22.5 crore in bookings across both platforms, with a team where nobody is 25 yet, then raising our seed round from Kairon Capital and Titan Capital.
