Accenture Unveils 50:50 Pay Structure Combining Salary and Cash Incentives
Accenture has rolled out a new 50:50 compensation structure where 50% of an employee’s authorised salary increase will be added to base pay and the other 50% will be paid as a one-time cash incentive in June.
The method by which Accenture increases employee salaries has been modified. Workers will see half of their authorised pay hike deposited into their base income under the new method. The remaining portion, however, will be disbursed in June in the form of a lump sum payment. The new pay scale will be implemented in June during the company's wage review.
Moreover, it will be applicable to all of its employees worldwide, including the approximately 3.5 lakh people working in India. If an employee's request for a 3% rise is granted, for instance, 1.5% will be tacked onto their base pay. The remaining 1.5%, however, will be due in June in the form of a lump sum.
Why Accenture Initiated Such Payout Model?
Media outlets said in an internal memo that the corporation stated the new model would provide workers with additional cash on the spot. Nevertheless, the company will be able to enhance base salaries for more workers thanks to the change. Employees whose salaries were flat from the previous year were told by the corporation that they had received only few raises. However, by splitting the authorised increment between a permanent income and a one-time dividend, it has expanded the pool of employees eligible for base pay raises this year.
Salary increases associated with promotions will still be added in full to employees' base pay, according to Accenture. Additionally, the December bonus cycle and the one-time cash distribution will continue to be distinct from one another. Compensation decisions will still be based on individuals' abilities, performance, influence, and conduct, according to the corporation. Staff members have expressed a range of opinions regarding the new compensation plan. Some people are wondering if this new arrangement is temporary. On the other hand, some people want to know how the one-time payment will be taxed.
Accenture Infusing AI in its Operations
Reportedly, the corporation is keeping tabs on how its employees utilise its AI capabilities. In addition, it promotes the widespread use of AI by its staff and urges them to incorporate it more into their everyday job. According to a media source, Accenture will consider this when deciding who to promote from inside. In order to be promoted to leadership positions, Accenture's senior managers and associate directors are required to demonstrate "regular adoption" of AI.
In addition, the consulting firm has begun tracking the number of times senior staff members connect to AI products on a weekly basis. This will allow businesses to rethink their operations and processes, according to Accenture CEO Julie Sweet. In addition, it will find novel approaches to work and implement AI solutions company-wide to facilitate value creation and ongoing development.
