A new artificial intelligence assistant called Seller Assistant will soon be available to Amazon's 1.7 million Indian sellers. The advertising, inventory planning, and cataloguing processes can all be improved using this solution. This application is designed to help sellers with onboarding, listings, and everyday tasks on the marketplace. It uses Amazon Bedrock, Nova foundation models, and Anthropic Claude.

Also, the campaign's performance will be enhanced, and replenishment suggestions will be provided using machine learning models. This deployment has been planned to coincide with Prime Day later this month. This will be a real test of how well the tool is used and how effective it is. Amazon states that sellers who have used these AI technologies have seen a decrease of 10% in listing errors and a reduction of 70% in operational effort.

Amazon Building its Strong Nexus in India

The AI endeavour is part of a larger trend in the e-commerce sector, where seller tools powered by AI are being implemented by platforms such as Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Meesho. Amazon's goals go beyond just being efficient. Now the business is focused on improving its ecosystem by assisting sellers in expanding and running more efficiently, which will lead to lower prices for customers.

Training 5,000 merchants in over 20 locations is just the beginning; by 2030, the aim is to have an influence on 15 million enterprises. Automation will play an increasingly important role in Amazon's operations in India, especially in the fulfilment centers' inventory management. In an interview with an Indian media agency, Tye Brady, the Chief Technologist at Amazon Robotics, said that the company is currently implementing a number of automation solutions. In its fulfilment network in India, it has implemented all of these automated solutions. Having already invested $40 billion and promising an extra $35 billion through 2030, Amazon is clearly committed to the Indian market.
