Claude AI Goes Free for Teachers as Anthropic Expands Education Push
Anthropic is offering verified K-12 instructors in the US free access to their premium AI model, Claude, through 2027, to help educators streamline lesson planning, evaluations and classroom activities.
Anthropic, an AI business, has introduced a new program that will provide verified K-12 teachers in the US with free access to the premium version of its AI chatbot, Claude, until 2027. Lesson planning, classroom activities, and other everyday teaching responsibilities can be made easier with the help of Claude for Teachers.
According to the business, the program's goal is to provide educators with AI technologies while protecting students' personal information. The initiative provides qualified educators with free access to Claude's premium features. All fifty states utilise the same set of academic standards, so teachers can use the AI helper to make lessons, tests, and classroom activities that adhere to those criteria.
Anthropic Making Life Easier for Educators
To further expand its curriculum-based educational tools, Anthropic has collaborated with groups like Learning Commons and Illustrative Mathematics. The site also works with Canva Education, which makes it easier for educators to make materials for the classroom. According to the business, Claude conversations will not be utilised to train its AI models. Additionally, it was mentioned that the programme adheres to the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a statute in the United States that safeguards student records of education.
The release coincides with the fact that many educators are seeking methods to cut down on paperwork and classroom preparation time. Teachers will have more time to engage with pupils and enhance learning results if mundane chores can be automated, according to Anthropic. But for the time being, the free programme is only available to US-based verified K-12 educators. The initiative's free premium access is not available to teachers in India or any other country.
They are free to keep using Claude with any of the available regular plans, whether free or premium. The most recent project from Anthropic demonstrates the expanding function of AI in assisting educators, which is particularly noteworthy given the widespread use of AI in the field of education. So, the business is streamlining classroom activities and increasing access to learning materials.
Anthropic Rolls Out India Pricing for Claude AI
The Claude AI assistant from Anthropic has begun to feature prices tailored to the Indian market. This means that subscribers can now pay with rupees rather than dollars. This change is anticipated to enhance the chatbot's accessibility for users in India. In addition, the move is indicative of the company's continued emphasis on the region it now ranks as its second-biggest market, after only the US.
Pricing for Claude's paid plans on mobile apps and the web is starting to reflect local rates for users in India. That way, international transactions will be less complicated, and dollar-denominated payments will no longer be necessary. This localisation is part of a larger trend of global AI businesses rushing to establish a foothold in India's rapidly expanding generative AI sector.
