Claude Fable 5 Extension Brings 7 Days of AI Innovations Until July 19

Anthropic is offering free access to their sophisticated AI model, Claude Fable 5, to qualified customers of its premium AI versions Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise until July 19. The extension also raises developers’ weekly limits for Claude Code by 50%.

Claude Pro, Max, Team, and premium Enterprise members participating in Anthropic can continue to enjoy Fable 5's advanced reasoning features at no extra cost until July 19. In response to customer complaints, Anthropic has extended the deadline for premium customers to access Claude Fable 5 until July 19.

The original plan was to keep Fable 5's free tier until July 12; however, that was later pushed back to July 7. The free subscription has been extended again. Anthropic, on the other hand, is believed to have decided to extend the free subscription of its flagship model for a more strategic reason—to buy more time to secure large compute resources—rather than as a marketing stunt.

How Users can Access Fable 5?

Fable 5 can be used by paid users up to half of their weekly subscription limits, as stated in Anthropic's new support policy. With no need for human activation, the model taps into the identical pool of weekly usage as other Claude models. Picking "Fable 5" from the model selector is easy for users. Fable 5's sophisticated reasoning capabilities will be available to Anthropic users with Claude Pro, Max, Team, and premium enterprise subscriptions at no additional cost until July 19.

As an added incentive, Anthropic has decided to keep the Claude Code developer community happy until the new deadline of July 19 by extending a 50% increase to weekly limitations. The free access to Fable 5 offer, however, is not without a catch. Fable 5 consumes weekly limits at a considerably quicker rate than its competitors (like Sonnet) due to its vast and parameter-heavy model. When consumers go over 50% of their weekly allocation, they are faced with some tough decisions.

The discount deal for Fable 5 is still limited. No one can participate in the trial if they are Claude free users, regular seats on seat-based enterprise plans, usage-based enterprise plans, or if they are using Claude through APIs. Claude on the Web, Mobile, Desktop, Claude Design, Claude for Microsoft 365, Claude for Teams, and Claude Tag are all part of Anthropic's ecosystem, and all of them presently offer Fable 5.

Anthropic Vs OpenAI Battle Continues

A computational constraint and competition from OpenAI were the underlying reasons for Anthropic's decision to extend the Fable 5 trial offer, which many have seen as a marketing ploy. The current demand for specialist graphics processing units (GPUs) is causing Anthropic and OpenAI to face difficulties in training and running frontier-class AI models like Fable 5.

No matter what happens with Anthropic's handling of compute limits or OpenAI's threats, Claude subscribers will get another week to use the more powerful Fable 5 model for their projects. After the discount period finishes, Fable 5 will likely revert to usage-credit billing per current policy unless the firm makes another change.
