Cabinet Clears INR 10,000 Crore SME Growth Fund
The Union Cabinet has approved the INR 10,000 crore SME Growth Fund to provide growth capital to small and medium businesses. The government will invest through private investment funds, which will then back eligible SMEs.
Most of the money will go to manufacturing SMEs, with the rest spread across services, technology and industrial clusters in smaller cities. The fund was first announced in the Union Budget 2026-27. India has more than 7.47 crore MSMEs, which together contribute 31.1% of GDP.
FirstCry-Backed Swara Baby Products Gets SEBI Nod for INR 1,000 Crore IPO
Swara Baby Products has received SEBI approval for its INR 1,000 crore IPO. The issue includes a fresh issue of INR 500 crore and an INR 500 crore offer for sale. FirstCry parent Brainbees Solutions will sell INR 300 crore of shares in the offer.
Swara makes baby diapers, adult diapers and sanitary napkins, including the Cuddles and Shield brands. It will use INR 198.2 crore from the IPO to build a new plant in Madhya Pradesh. Its operating revenue rose 23% to INR 1,163.9 crore in FY26, while profit grew 18% to INR 95.58 crore.
Mamaearth Parent Honasa Shares Jump 8% on Strong Q2 Outlook
Honasa Consumer shares rose as much as 8.2% to INR 478.20 on the BSE on 6 October. The Mamaearth parent had shared a strong outlook for Q2 FY27. The company expects its net sales to grow in the low thirties per cent year on year.
Honasa expects its younger brands, including The Derma Co and Aqualogica, to grow in the mid-forties per cent. Mamaearth's sales are expected to grow in the high teens. The company's market value stood at about INR 15,368 crore.
Reliance Gets Delhi High Court Relief Over Campa 'Energy Drink' Labelling
The Delhi High Court has granted interim relief to Reliance Industries, allowing it to keep marketing Campa products as energy drinks for now. The case will next be heard on 5 November 2026.
FSSAI had told makers of caffeinated drinks on 30 June 2026 to stop using the term 'energy drink' on packs. Reliance argued it was not notified before the order and said it held 288 million finished units with the label. Red Bull has also won a court order letting it keep using the term.
