Deepinder Goyal Reveals Temple Wearable to Debut Within the Next Year
Deepinder Goyal has announced that Temple, his AI-powered wearable, will be launched in the next 6-12 months. Temple is designed to assess metabolic rate using a new biomarker termed entropy, and intends to provide real-time insights regarding stress, recovery, sleep, meditation, and exercise.
The internet has been divided ever since Deepinder Goyal, co-founder of Zomato, initially hinted at the wearable device Temple. Temple, according to Goyal, can monitor a person's metabolic rate in real time, but many are still waiting for its official release.
The previous CEO of Eternal has now provided a revised schedule, suggesting that Temple's launch could take place within the next twelve months. To further support the health claims, research that has been peer-reviewed will be made public. Promoters have positioned the Temple as a tool for elite sportsmen. However, Deepinder Goyal claims that all he wanted was a device like this for himself. According to what he told a news source, he is not constructing a temple to accommodate all possible worshippers. He added, "I am building the device for myself."
More About Temple and its Operations
The Temple, to set the scene, is a bean-shaped gadget meant to be worn on the side of the user's forehead. In addition to Deepinder Goyal, the temple has been seen on badminton player PV Sindhu, who wore it in April of 2026 at the Uber Cup. "Maybe 6 to 12 months," Deepinder Goyal said when asked about a launch date. Unlike previous wearables, Temple aims to assess the body's metabolic rate, not heart rate, as stated by Goyal.
He clarified that the heart rate was intended to serve as a substitute for metabolic rate. "We discovered a real thing," he clarified. Deepinder Goyal said that the company plans to sell Temple as a wellness device with all the necessary components, including peer-reviewed studies. References to Temple, especially its entropy aspect, should be backed by peer-reviewed studies. According to Goyal, his group found a new biomarker they're calling entropy.
Goyal Explains Entropy and its Importance
According to the ex-CEO of Eternal, entropy is closely related to metabolic rate and can provide information on the effects of stress, meditation, recuperation, sleep, and exercise. But independent researchers have not confirmed the validity of this biomarker's underlying science just yet. As Deepinder Goyal's team develops other features, Temple may be submitted for medical approval, he said.
He asserted that the device will soon be equipped with features that will necessitate its classification as a medical device. Whenever the company has those features ready, it will launch them after they have received the necessary regulatory clearances. Applications for early access to Temple were opened by Goyal in May of this year. The first 100 Temple gadgets, he says, have received applications from more than 1 lakh people. Temple has been discussed by various channels, but Goyal has provided the clearest explanation of his use of Temple. Further, he has also explained why tracking progress has made meditation easier to sustain.
