DheyaTech raises INR 43 crore in funding led by Avaana Capital to scale indigenous micro gas turbine technology
DheyaTech, a Bengaluru-based deep-tech company developing advanced small gas turbine engines has raised INR 43 crore in funding led by Avaana Capital.
The company was founded by aerospace engineers with 15+ years of experience at GE Aviation, and Rolls-Royce. Small gas turbine engine design and manufacturing represent one of the most technically demanding capabilities in aerospace engineering. While over 30 countries operate nuclear power plants, fewer than a dozen nations possess the indigenous capability to design and manufacture small gas turbine engines. India has historically depended entirely on imports for small gas turbine engines - a technology critical to distributed energy generation, advanced aerial platforms, and next-generation energy infrastructure.
Backed by a decade of dedicated R&D, DheyaTech is building domestic capability in this strategic technology with small gas turbine engines spanning 20 kgf to 400 kgf of thrust for applications across advanced aerial mobility and energy, while its fuel-flexible and hydrogen capabilities open up opportunities for sustainable propulsion and next-generation power systems.
DheyaTech gas turbines are now entering commercial deployment, with flight trials of its engines targeted for Q4 2026. The company is already seeing strong market traction, with confirmed orders from Indian and global OEMs. The capital will be deployed to scale production capabilities, establish a fully integrated testing facility for its gas turbine engines, and work closely with domestic and global customers to accelerate deployment timelines.
DheyaTech’s platform approach is designed to create a scalable family of engines addressing multiple thrust requirements and applications. The company has built a strong in-house engineering team that owns the complete product development pipeline - from design and development through build and testing - and has also developed a proprietary, innovative adaptive Engine Control Unit (ECU).

DheyaTech is also the first private company in India to pursue independent airworthiness certification for its gas turbine engines under the guidance of CEMILAC-DRDO. The certification pathway represents an important milestone towards meeting the rigorous reliability and performance requirements of India’s avionics sector and reinforces the company’s focus on developing production-ready technology for mission-critical applications.

DheyaTech is also expanding its core turbomachinery capabilities towards next-generation energy systems. The company is advancing hydrogen propulsion and power-generation technologies, including a hydrogen blower that has received the globally recognized ATEX safety certification. In collaboration with IISc-Bengaluru, DheyaTech has also successfully developed a hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor for its 60-kW flexi-fuel turbogenerator, creating the enabling downstream infrastructure for fuel-flexible distributed power systems.
