Escorts Kubota Announces INR 2,000 Cr Investment for New UP Plant
Escorts to set up new manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh’s YEIDA industrial region with investment of over INR 2,000 crore The 154-acre complex will manufacture tractors, agricultural equipment, construction gear and engines for domestic and global markets.
An investment of INR 2,000 crore was announced by Escorts Kubota, a manufacturer of farm and construction equipment, on August 19th. As a result of this enormous investment, the firm is prepared to set up a new factory in the YEIDA industrial area in Uttar Pradesh.
Located in Sector 10, Gautam Buddha Nagar, the proposed factory spans 154 acres and is part of the Yamuna Motorway Industrial Development Authority's (YEIDA) industrial region. In addition, according to the company's regulatory filing, the plant will rank among the world's largest production facilities for its promoter, Kubota Group.
Escorts Kubota’s New Plant and its Offerings
With a total approximate financial outlay of over INR 2,000 crore, the new facility will be completed in phases. Additionally, it was announced that the company will produce tractors, agricultural tools, construction machinery, and engines for sale in both local and international markets. The first stage of the expansion will involve the building of additional amenities and supporting infrastructure, with a capacity increase of up to 60,000 tractors and 15,000 items of construction equipment per annum, according to the company.
The project will be financed by internal accruals and the profits from the earlier preferential share issue to Kubota Corporation, it noted. The president and chief executive officer of Kubota Corporation, Shingo Hanada, has stated that the tractor market in India is among the biggest and most rapidly expanding in the world. The nation has also been crucial to Kubota's growth strategy up until 2030.

It was also mentioned that Escorts Kubota can produce 10,000 pieces of construction equipment each year in addition to 170,000 tractors. Nikhil Nanda, chief marketing officer of Kubota Escorts, stated that the company's founding principle in 1944 was the belief that Indian farmers and builders should have access to machinery that was rigorously designed and manufactured to international standards. According to Nanda, this marks a turning point in the brand's road toward self-sufficiency in manufacturing and one of the biggest investments we have undertaken to date.
Farmers and building contractors from all across India and the world will benefit from the plant. On top of that, it will solidify the nation's status as a global industrial powerhouse. The new factory will be an integrated production campus with machining, assembly, testing, engines, and a mother warehouse for spare parts all located on a single site, according to Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Ltd. In addition to energy-efficient utilities and stringent safety regulations, Kato stated that the company is integrating the Kubota production system, automation, and digital quality control from the very beginning.
