To help its users gain a better grasp of their financial situation, Google has unveiled Ask Google Pay, an artificial intelligence assistant powered by Gemini that is built inside the Google Pay app. Users can get tailored insights and ask enquiries regarding their expenditure with this tool.

In addition, by analysing their purchase history, consumers can gain financial literacy and find hidden savings opportunities. In addition to the AI helper, the company has partnered with SBI Card to broaden its Flex credit programme.

How Google Pay AI Works?

Using Google Pay AI is like stepping into a world of total immersion. Questions like "What was my largest spending last month?" or "How can I cut back on my monthly expenses?" are examples of what users can ask. Afterwards, the AI examines the data that is accessible and provides solutions that are straightforward to comprehend. At this time, the function is compatible with ten Indian languages, according to Google, and it is driven by their Gemini AI models. The assistant allows users to communicate with it through voice or text.

When a user uses Google Pay, the AI assistant looks at their past purchases and, if applicable, any information from their credit record that is associated with the app. Instead of just showing transactions, it uses this information to offer tailored insights. For example, if users noticed a rise in their food delivery spending over the previous several months, Ask Google Pay can help them find ways to cut costs. Based on past purchases and current spending patterns, it might also suggest credit cards with vacation or shopping rewards as an appropriate financial instrument.

Other Features of Google Pay AI

Not only can the assistant help with budgeting, but they can also shed light on credit ratings, compound interest, SIPs, and the various tax systems. The goal is to simplify financial data so that people don't have to go looking for other resources to understand it. The function is meant for instructional purposes, and consumers still have control over their financial data, according to Google. Ask Google Pay is different from other budgeting apps since it gives users useful information rather than just a list of categories for their expenses.

Its conversational interface is designed to assist users in recognising wasteful spending, comprehending recurring expenses, and making well-informed financial decisions. Instead of scrolling through several panels within the app, users may continue a chat with the AI by asking it follow-up questions. There are two new products from Google: the Google Pay Flex SBI Card and Ask Google Pay. This RuPay-powered card doesn't require any paper applications; all users need is the Google Pay app. Additionally, it is compatible with Visa, has a rewards program called Stars (with one Star equalling INR 1), and lets customers pay off their bills with easy monthly installments (EMIs).
