L&T Partners With Together AI to Build India’s Largest Nvidia B300 AI Factory
L&T’s data center division Vyoma.AI secures Rs 10,000-15,000 crore order from Together AI to establish India's largest Nvidia B300 AI facility in Chennai It will be used for large-scale AI training, fine-tuning and inference with space for up to 10,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs.
Vyoma.AI, L&T's data centre division, said that it had acquired an Nvidia B300 AI factory—the biggest single-cluster AI infrastructure in India—for the benefit of a US-based startup called Together AI. Approximate value of the order: INR 10,000–15,000 crore.
Located in Vyoma's data centre complex in Chennai, the AI factory will soon be able to power an AI-native cloud platform that can handle training, fine-tuning, and large-scale inferencing workloads. The AI factory can be expanded in the future thanks to the gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site at the Chennai data centre. Phase 1 is planned for 250 MW, and the power infrastructure is ready for 150 MVA. As a provider of integrated AI computing capabilities, L&T sees this order as a major milestone beyond traditional data center infrastructure.
How the New Nvidia B300 AI Factor will Operate?
The AI-native cloud platform for large-scale training and inference used by Together AI will be powered by Vyoma. There is enough room for 10,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs at the AI facility. The platform integrates AI infrastructure operations, high-performance networking, accelerated computing, high-throughput parallel storage, hyperscale data centre infrastructure, and ultra-low-latency interconnects.
According to S N Subrahmanyan, chairman and managing director of L&T, AI is rapidly becoming an industry standard, and AI factories will drive this revolution. As part of L&T's gigawatt AI infrastructure ambition, Vyoma has deployed an Nvidia B300 AI factory for Together AI, which is a major milestone. Vyoma.AI Ltd. will acquire L&T's data centre and cloud services company for INR 1,400 that was agreed upon earlier this week.
Together AI Building its Network
Lately, Together AI has been forming such partnerships to enhance its market pressence. To construct a massive AI cluster on IBM Cloud utilising Nvidia equipment, it has inked a $240 million, multi-year agreement with IBM. Businesses can save money compared to closed systems by training and running AI workloads on the company's platform using open models like DeepSeek, MiniMax, and Kimi. Nvidia is one of its clients; the San Francisco-based company was last valued at approximately $8.3 billion in July.
L&T is cognisant of the fact that, according to Together AI co-founder and CEO Vipul Ved Prakash, the largest infrastructure build-out in human history would be the dissemination of artificial intelligence on a worldwide scale. Togerther AI has teamed up with them to provide India with the scalability, robustness, and engineering brilliance that the country needs right now. Serial entrepreneur Ved Prakash founded this company in 2022 after serving as a senior director at Apple. As generative AI and large-scale AI model training continue to grow, L&T is jumping on the bandwagon for high-density computing infrastructure.
