According to a senior company official, global technology giant Lenovo hopes to treble its business in India over the next three years, relying on a booming Motorola smartphone market and "high double-digit" growth in its infrastructure and services verticals. Amar Babu, president of Lenovo Asia Pacific, thinks that the company's "India for the world" innovation approach and domestic demand will drive its future growth trajectory. According to Babu, Lenovo is a success story in India. Additionally, there is a chance to maintain that growth story throughout all of the company's operations.

Recent Performance of Lenovo in India

Lenovo's Motorola division has achieved remarkable success. Over the past two years, the brand's revenue has more than doubled. Its infrastructure division is experiencing double-digit growth. The Lenovo services and solutions division is expanding at double digits. The company's goal is to double its business within the next three years.

In an interview with PTI, Babu stated that if the brand is able to accomplish that, it will undoubtedly do so with the appropriate degree of innovation, infrastructure, and local economic contribution, all the while investing in its back-end capabilities and continuing to construct this narrative: of India, for India, and India for the world. "I see India as a growth business, as a growth market for Lenovo worldwide," he stated.

India is the Fastest Growing Market for Lenovo: Babu

With growth exceeding 20%, Babu pointed out that Lenovo India is one of the company's fastest-growing regions globally. According to him, a large amount of the software for Motorola phones is created locally, while Lenovo designs its major servers in India. Babu confirmed that Lenovo would keep adding resources ahead of the curve to support business growth, even though he did not provide exact details regarding the company's recruiting intentions in India.

According to Babu, a brand will add resources as needed as a business expands. Infrastructure will be added as required. Lenovo has continually been ahead of the curve in this regard. One of its markets with the quickest rate of growth is India. The company will undoubtedly keep investing, hiring, and making sure it can develop the necessary talent base in light of that opportunity and growth. The talent market in India is quite alluring. Strong demand driven by digitisation, premiumisation, and improved consumer mood after the GST reform helped Lenovo India record a 23% year-over-year rise in revenue at USD 1.2 billion in the September quarter.
