Lenskart to launch AI-powered smart glasses in December to expand tech wearable lineup

According to persons familiar with the situation, eyewear giant Lenskart is preparing to introduce its first pair of AI-powered smart glasses by the end of December, establishing itself as a technology-led lifestyle brand. Called "B by Lenskart Smartglasses" internally, the future gadget is anticipated to incorporate UPI payment capabilities, health and well-being information, and AI-based interactions.

In the weeks after the company's November 10 stock market offering, smart glasses based on Gemini 2.5 may be released. They stated that the product's price has not yet been decided. According to a number of media sources, the goal of smart glasses is to integrate AI and commerce into the eyewear experience, allowing for ease and engagement in addition to vision.

Technology that will Power the Lenskart’s Smart Glasses

The Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform from Qualcomm, a chipset built for lightweight augmented reality and camera-enabled AI apps, is probably what powers the device. The supposition is consistent with the strategic alliance that Lenskart and Qualcomm announced at the Snapdragon for India XR Day in July 2025, wherein both companies disclosed their intentions to jointly create AR and AI technologies specifically for Indian consumers.

On October 31, Lenskart Solutions began a public offering to raise INR 7,278 crore at a valuation of approximately INR 70,000 crore (USD 8 billion). The public offering, which sold out on the first day, will end on November 4.

Lenskart Investing Heavily in AI

As it moves beyond traditional eyewear retail, the firm has also made a number of investments in AI, XR, and computer vision startups in the last year, strengthening its in-house tech skills. This project is a component of Lenskart's larger plan to transform from a direct-to-consumer optical company into a vision-tech ecosystem brand.

According to media reports, if Lenskart is successful, it will be among the first Indian consumer tech companies to market AI-powered eyewear, competing with items like Amazon Echo Frames and Meta-Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, but at a cost and style that is appropriate for Indian consumers.
