What Happened With PhysicsWallah’s Shares?

PhysicsWallah launched its IPO on November 11, 2025. The company issued a price band of INR 103-109. It sold the shares at INR 109 to investors during the IPO period (November 11–13).

Details of the IPO:

  • Total amount raised: INR 3,480.71 crore.

This amount came from:

  • Fresh issue: 28.45 crore new shares worth INR 3,100.71 crore, meaning the money goes to the company.
  • Offer for Sale (OFS): 3.49 crore existing shares worth INR 380 crore, meaning the money goes to shareholders selling.

Subscription: The IPO was subscribed 1.81 times.

How Did the Stock Perform on Listing Day?

Notably, PhysicsWallah got a big jump start on the first day (November 18, 2025) because the shares opened much higher than INR 109.

  • On NSE, the stock was listed at INR 145, which is 33.03% higher than INR 109.
  • On BSE, the stock was listed at INR 143.10, which is 31% higher than INR 109.
  • And such a type of jump is called "listing premium.”
  • The experts anticipated the stock to price at a 13% premium, but it did much better than expected.

What Happened by the End of the First Day?

At the end of the day, the stock closed at INR 155.24, a 42.42% gain over the IPO price of INR 109. For the record, the overall market was down the entire day. At the same time, PhysicsWallah's stock continued rising. Hence, the IPO investors earned solid profits on the very first day.
