Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) paid €320 million (about $373 million) to acquire MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH (MHP), a Porsche subsidiary, on August 24. In addition to the purchase, Porsche and TCS have inked a €1.25 billion strategic agreement that will last for five years.

In order to facilitate Porsche's continued development, TCS will establish a centre of excellence (CoE) as part of the deal. Both TCS and Porsche are new clients for the IT firm, making this a really exciting deal. Within three to four months, the deal should be finalised.

Operations of MHP

Porsche AG (Porsche) owns MHP, a prominent European participant in industrial consultancy and the automotive industry. Consulting for businesses, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, SAP transformation, digitalisation of manufacturing, and software-defined and linked mobility are all areas in which MHP excels. In CY2025, the firm's revenue was €742 million, and it serves more than 300 clients.

There are 4,500 people working for the company, and they would all be joining TCS. The managing director and managing director of Tata Consultancy Services, K. Krithivasan, expressed his company's delight in joining forces with Porsche on its path to change. With this alliance, TCS and MHP combine their strengths in artificial intelligence (AI), engineering, technology, and business transformation. AI, software, and data are reshaping the automobile sector. When combined, the two companies will help Porsche industrialise AI on a massive scale. Therefore, bringing the future of intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences to fulfilment by speeding up innovation throughout the value chain.

How Partnership will Benefit Both the Firms?

One of the most illustrious pillars supporting TCS' AI transformation goal is the cooperation with the world-renowned sports car manufacturer Porsche. Additionally, it will establish TCS as a trusted advisor and technological collaborator for Porsche and other industrial and automotive clients throughout Europe. In order to industrialise AI across all of Porsche's business transformation initiatives, including engineering, production, operations, customer experience, and enterprise transformation, TCS and Porsche have formed a partnership.

It will also be useful in providing software-defined mobility platforms and services for next-gen automotive technologies, which will lead to long-term value creation. The sale of MHP to Tata Consultancy Services is a significant step forward in Porsche's goal to concentrate squarely on its core business, according to Dr Michael Leiters, CEO of Porsche AG. Simultaneously, the company is acquiring TCS as a strategic partner. In an increasingly data- and software-driven mobility environment, Porsche will enhance its innovative power, efficiency, and competitiveness by integrating TCS' digital technology and AI skills with its automotive expertise, Dr Leiters added.

This expands TCS's footprint in the European market and the automobile industry. Revenue for Porche at the end of Q1FY27 was 8.7% from manufacturing, which includes cars. Production accounted for 8.8% of total expenditures in FY26. The segment's growth has been somewhat modest.
