As part of a secondary transaction, Upsurge India transferred almost 1% of the equity in iD Fresh Food, a top fresh-food brand in India, for more than INR 50 crore. Managing assets and investments in both the public and private sectors is the speciality of Upsurge India.

Blue Ashva Capital, an early investor in iD Fresh Food, was able to withdraw their funds through the deal. The deal is noteworthy because of the private market's limited availability of equity and iD Fresh's tightly held shareholding structure. The private secondary market currently offers about 3% of the company's equity, of which this block constitutes a substantial share.

Although there was intense competition from other institutional purchasers, Upsurge India was the driving force behind the deal. The firm has negotiated the commercial terms with co-leads TG Fund and WW Ventures and successfully acquired Blue Ashva Capital's entire shareholding block. The demand from investors much outstripped the supply. Transaction advisory services were provided by BlueCheck Advisors. I.D. iD Fresh Always Remained a Bounty for Investors

Apax bought a sizable minority stake in iD Fresh in early 2026, drawing substantial institutional investment to the company. This was accomplished by Apax through a deal that was believed to have a size of about INR 1,500 crore and an implicit valuation of about 4,400 crore. There will be no public disclosure of the current secondary transaction's valuation. The head of equity at Upsurge India, Satyam Goyal, has praised iD Fresh for their outstanding work. They've taken something that's already part of Indian cuisine and made it into a legitimate, scalable consumer company. The brand, he said, is immediately noticeable to all. "What interests us as investors is what sits behind it: manufacturing prowess, cold-chain infrastructure and distribution with consistency that is genuinely difficult to replicate at scale," said Goyal.

According to Apax, these factors provide the company a substantial runway that extends far beyond the initial sectors it entered. According to Blue Ashva Capital's founder and CEO Satya Bansal, the company's dedication to long-term wealth creation and careful portfolio management is demonstrated by its ongoing liquidity generation from its first-vintage fund. While maintaining its emphasis on deep-tech and strategic innovations, he said that Ashva Capital is pleased to have the new shareholders on board and is optimistic about iD Fresh's future growth.
