A final deal has been struck by Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting to buy S Brands Consumer Care Inc., a company situated in the Philippines. Consequently, Wipro is bolstering its position in Southeast Asia and diversifying its personal care offerings. The acquisition, which was announced on July 21st, is the company's second in the Philippines and its sixteenth acquisition worldwide. The financial terms, however, remained undisclosed.

The local personal care brands KERATINplus, AlcoPlus, DeoPlus, Empress, and Fiona Cologne are now part of Wipro Consumer Care's portfolio thanks to the acquisition. In addition, Wipro is reiterating its plan to expand into new international markets through mergers and acquisitions. This acquisition expands the company's reach in the Philippines, which it had already established after acquiring the personal care division of Splash Corporation in 2019.

Philippines Remains a Key Market for Wipro

As part of its Southeast Asian expansion strategy, Wipro Consumer Care has targeted the Philippines as a key market. With the 2019 acquisition of Splash Corporation's personal care division, the company's international portfolio now includes SkinWhite, Maxi-Peel, and Vitress, among others. Its brand recognition in the country has grown even further with its most recent acquisition. Hair care, personal hygiene, deodorants, and scents are just a few of the personal care items offered by S Brands in the Philippines.

The purchase, according to Wipro Consumer Care, will strengthen the company's position in the nation. On top of that, it will help Wipro solidify its position in a crucial foreign market. The personal care, home care, and lighting divisions of Wipro Enterprises—Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting—operate in over 20 countries. The expansion of the company's geographical reach and product offerings has been driven by an acquisition-led growth strategy.

AI to Power Wipro’s Next Wave of Transformation

Consulting, enterprise platforms, and AI-led transformation will be Wipro's primary areas of concentration as its clients transition from experimentation to execution. Chairperson Rishad Premji and Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director Srini Pallia made an announcement at the 80th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 15.

Even if the IT industry as a whole is being cautious, the business has stated that it will keep investing in AI capabilities, platforms, partnerships, and talent while keeping its focus on margins and cash creation. Bringing attention to the evolving environment of enterprise technology, Premji stated that AI constituted a fundamental change in the firm's era and was opening up new avenues for growth, innovation, and transformation.

Despite a 14% increase in total bookings to $16.4 billion, Wipro's IT services revenue fell 1.6% in constant currency to $10.5 billion for FY26. The number of large-deal bookings rose to $7.8 billion, with four deals totalling over $500 million in contract value. The operating margin for the company likewise increased to 17.2%. It takes more than just implementing technology, according to Premji, to see business benefits from AI.
