With an initial staff of five, the Canadian subsurface engineering business VZFOX intends to set up shop in Bengaluru, India, by the year 2026's end. The move is part of an effort to capitalise on prospects in the country's gas and oil industry. The Calgary-based firm is using the Team Canada Trade Mission to break into the Indian market.

As the company's commercial prospects improve, it intends to hire more locals. VZFOX's primary objective is to network with Indian EPC businesses, project developers, engineering firms, and oil and gas operators. According to Vinay Kumar, VZFOX's executive director and senior adviser, the company is hesitant to jump into India without first gauging the market. Additionally, he mentioned that the company has intentions to establish a core staff in India and then extend it in line with its expanding engagement with domestic energy providers.

How VZFOX Planned to Execute its Operations in India?

With the goal of increasing domestic oil and gas output and decreasing reliance on imported crude, VZFOX has entered the Indian market. Canadian reservoir engineers and mature-field managers might be a great addition to Indian energy assets, according to the corporation. Optimisation of reservoirs, rebuilding of mature fields, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), improved oil recovery (IOR), and injection strategies will be the main focuses of its planned operations in India.

Additionally, the business plans to back carbon-storage and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) initiatives. VZFOX stated that its concept in India will entail helping local initiatives with technical know-how while simultaneously training engineers in India to back up the company's global operations. According to VZFOX managing partner and director Vick Saxon, firm's talks with Indian oil and gas firms demonstrate India's impressive engineering prowess. According to Saxon, the company sees an opportunity in assisting operators in maximising the return on investment (ROI) of their current energy assets.

VZFOX Sees India as a Long-Term Investment Destination

Aiming for more than just a quick dip into the Indian market, the corporation intends to establish a lasting presence in India. The current focus is on building a small number of partnerships that can bring in repeat technical projects, rather than setting a specific revenue target.

With customers all around the world, VZFOX has been an industry leader in subsurface, reservoir, and injection engineering for over 20 years. Additional hiring will be contingent upon the scope and velocity of business expansion, but its Bengaluru location is anticipated to function as the hub for its operations in India.
