Ahmedabad Strengthens GCC Push with Mega IT Park Near GIFT City

With the opening of Million Minds Tech City, Ahmedabad is vying to become one of India's many Global Capability Centre (GCC) nodes. In this endeavour, Ganesh Housing Limited is investing INR 15,000 crore to build an integrated technological township. Ahmedabad has long been known as a hub for trade and manufacturing, but this project is part of a larger effort to change that perception.

Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune are already well-established tech hubs and GCC destinations; this move will put the Ahmedabad city in the same league. Ganesh Housing's managing director, Shekhar Patel, told a news agency that the project is one of the biggest developments the company has ever worked on. Also, the project is a long-term bet on India's growing importance in international tech and service operations.

More Specifics of GCC Hub in Ahmedabad

Million Minds Tech City, according to the business's statement, is planned to be a 65-acre mega-city. Additionally, it will cover a total of about 18 million square feet of potential development. Grade A commercial and technological office spaces totalling nearly 10 million sq. ft and nearly six million sq. ft of premium residential developments will make up the integrated ecosystem. In addition, there will be approximately two million square feet of space devoted to retail, hospitality, social, and lifestyle infrastructure.

With the help of real estate developer and operator Tishman Speyer as the project manager and design firm RSP Architects as the design partner, Ganesh Housing Limited is developing the project. The project will reportedly be developed in stages, as stated by the company. Nearly 8 lakh sq. ft. has been leased to leading global and domestic enterprises in phase one of the development, which comprises about 1.3 million sq. ft.

Ahmedabad Opening its Gates for Big Players

A wide range of industries, including IT, consulting, biotech, and shared office space, have set up shop in Million Minds Tech City. Gujarat has already become one of the most powerful engines of industrial growth in India, according to Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home and Cooperation, who spoke at the launch event. There has been recent bold action by the state to position itself as a world leader in innovation, technology, and highly skilled services. With the help of projects like Million Minds Tech City, Ahmedabad will be able to compete with the best tech cities in the country and boast first-rate infrastructure and job opportunities, according to the minister.

These global players include IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Searce (Singapore-based global technology and cloud consulting firm), Valtech (Germany-origin global digital transformation company) , Withum (USA-based international accounting, tax and advisory firm) , Kashiv BioSciences (Global biotechnology and pharmaceutical-focused enterprise), DevX (Premium Managed office and co-working spaces provider), and APSER Life Science (International life sciences and healthcare-focused enterprise). This development shows that businesses are becoming more confident in Ahmedabad as a centre for innovation, technology, and commerce.
