Bioscan Research Raises $1 Mn Seed Round
Mumbai-based medtech startup Bioscan Research develops non-invasive medical devices for the early detection of brain injuries. Founded in 2017 by Anupam Lavania and Shilpa Malik, its flagship product CEREBO uses near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and machine learning to detect intracranial injuries before visible symptoms appear.
Bioscan Research raised $1 million (about ₹8.6 crore) in a seed round led by Unicorn India Ventures, the early-stage deeptech investor founded in 2016. Bioscan said it recorded 5X growth over the past 12 months.
The proceeds will fund market expansion, additional regulatory approvals, product upgrades and new intellectual property. Bioscan aims to grow threefold over the next year by expanding across India and overseas markets.

InMobi Appoints Four Bankers For Its $1 Bn IPO
Adtech unicorn InMobi has reportedly appointed JPMorgan Chase, Jefferies, Kotak Mahindra Capital and Axis Capital to helm its planned $1 Bn (₹9,634 crore) public issue. The SoftBank-backed firm, founded in 2007 by Naveen Tewari and co-founders, is set to begin IPO proceedings this week and eyes a listing in the coming months. InMobi is currently shifting its domicile to India from Singapore, and a year ago was targeting a valuation of $8 Bn to $10 Bn.
Eternal's Q1 FY27 Profit Triples To ₹92 Cr On Blinkit Surge
Eternal, the parent of Blinkit and Zomato, reported a consolidated net profit of ₹92 crore in Q1 FY27, nearly 3X the ₹25 crore a year earlier, though profit fell 48% sequentially from ₹174 crore. Operating revenue rose 182% YoY to ₹20,211 crore. The quick commerce arm surpassed ₹15,000 crore in quarterly revenue at ₹15,664 crore, aided by Blinkit's switch to an inventory-led model, while Zomato posted an operating profit of ₹621 crore.
Bira 91 Founder Ankur Jain Steps Down, Gives Up 17.8% Stake
Bira 91 founder Ankur Jain has stepped down from B9 Beverages and surrendered the promoter family's 17.8% stake in a settlement with investors and lenders. In return, Jain will be released from personal guarantees on corporate loans, and both sides will withdraw pending litigation. The exit follows a near two-year financial crisis that halted production and saw debt swell to as much as ₹1,000 crore. The brewer, backed by Peak XV Partners, Sofina and Kirin Holdings, will now be recapitalised by existing investors and lenders under a revival plan.
