Key Business News for 21 August 2026

Atomberg Files DRHP For INR 450 Crore Fresh Issue IPO

Atomberg Technologies filed its draft red herring prospectus with SEBI for an IPO comprising a fresh issue of up to INR 450 crore and an offer for sale of up to 7.65 crore shares. A91 Partners will sell the largest chunk of shares, followed by Temasek-backed V-Sciences Investments and Jungle Ventures, as the investors take a partial exit.

Founded in 2012 by Manoj Meena and joined by co-founder Sibabrata Das in 2013, Atomberg makes consumer appliances including ceiling fans, mixer grinders, water purifiers and smart locks, and holds a 46% market share in the premium fans segment by value. Its revenue grew 34.8% to INR 1,293.77 crore in FY26, though its adjusted EBITDA declined and it posted a restated loss of INR 148.88 crore.

Google Rolls Out AI-Powered JEE, NEET Preparation Tools

Google rolled out AI-powered learning features across Search and Gemini to help students prepare for competitive exams including JEE and NEET, alongside global tests such as the SAT and GRE. The rollout includes practice quizzes, interactive visualisations, diagnostic tests and a dedicated Student Hub within Gemini.

The Student Hub lets students organise study material, create flashcards and take diagnostic quizzes that generate personalised lessons based on their strengths and gaps. Google is also offering eligible college students in India a free one-year Google AI Plus subscription, as the rollout raises questions about its longer-term impact on standalone edtech platforms.

Deepinder Goyal Unveils Temple, Targets $500 Million Valuation

Zomato and Eternal co-founder Deepinder Goyal unveiled a smaller version of his brain-monitoring wearable Temple, ahead of a commercial launch planned by the end of 2026. Temple is seeking fresh funding at a valuation of about $500 million, up from the roughly $190 million valuation and $54 million raised earlier this year.

Temple is designed to track cerebral blood flow, oxygenation and cognitive stress rather than standard fitness metrics like steps or heart rate, and will be priced at around INR 80,000 with lifetime access to its software. The company has also launched its first ESOP liquidity programme for employees as it scales up its workforce and product development.

Euler Motors Upgrades Palwal Facility For Four-Wheeler Production

Euler Motors, backed by Hero MotoCorp, expanded its manufacturing facility in Palwal, Haryana, with an investment of more than INR 100 crore to ramp up production of its electric four-wheelers. The plant can produce up to 24,000 vehicles a year and was inaugurated by Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Pawan Munjal.

The facility will manufacture Euler's Storm EV and Turbo EV 1000 models, with layered testing across systems such as suspension, drivetrain and steering. Euler said its four-wheeler EVs have helped grow electric penetration in the commercial cargo segment from about 1% to 5.8%, with the company holding around 28% share of that category.
