Oracle’s Hiring Rollback Hits IIT and NIT Students Following Massive Layoffs

Campus job offers from Oracle have allegedly been withdrawn from students at various National Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Technology. More than 30,000 workers across the globe were allegedly impacted by the tech company's massive global restructuring exercise, which was completed just weeks ago.

Due to internal restructuring and updated hiring standards, the firm revoked offers extended during campus recruitment drives in 2025. Concern has spread across campuses as impacted students scramble to find alternative job opportunities near the end of the placement cycle.

Reason for Oracle’s Rollback and Students Ordeal

According to the recent grad, Oracle has been recruiting recent grads for positions such as application developer and server technology team leader. However, the company revoked all offer letters for the vertical across the country after one of the server technology business units, Oracle Health and Application Infrastructure, was shut down recently. In order to vent their frustrations and find new opportunities, a number of recent graduates turned to the professional networking site LinkedIn.

Because many IITs and NITs adhere to a "one student, one offer" placement policy, students are already under a lot of stress due to the offer cancellations.
