Rotoris Raises ₹70 Cr Series A for Indian Luxury Watches

Rotoris says 2,100 watches sold out in days. At the prices on its website that is roughly ₹13 crore to ₹27 crore of sales, and the round's own figures do not match at today's exchange rate.

Rotoris co-founders Aakash Anand and Prerna Gupta

Rotoris says its first 2,100 watches sold out within days of launch. It has now raised ₹70 crore to make more.

The Gurugram watch house raised the Series A from Blume Ventures, with 9Unicorns and Centricity bringing in family offices including Diwakar Goel, Atul Singh and Adhiraj Burman of the Dabur family, and actor Rannvijay Singha also investing. The money goes into research and development, expanded production and Rotoris House, the appointment-only space where it receives clients, in India and abroad. Co-founder Aakash Anand says Rotoris House is going to New York, because many of its customers live there.

What 2,100 watches add up to

Rotoris launched its founding chapter of 2,100 numbered watches in February 2026, and says it sold out within days. It says close to 100,000 people have since registered for access, and that 40% of demand comes from outside India, across the US, Dubai and Australia. Watches are sold by invitation through a registry, in named chapters with published run sizes. The website shows what a chapter costs: allocated Astonia chronographs are priced at ₹63,000 to ₹1 lakh and allocated Manifesta stone-dial pieces at ₹1.15 lakh to ₹1.27 lakh, so if the 2,100 sold at prices in that range they would add up to roughly ₹13 crore to ₹27 crore of retail sales, depending on the mix. That is arithmetic on list prices, not reported revenue, which Rotoris has not disclosed.

I treat the registry as interest and the 2,100 as proof. Those watches are about 2% of the registry's size, and a number someone paid for says more than a number someone signed up for.

₹70 crore or $8.5 million

The round has two figures that do not match at today's rate. Rotoris gives it as ₹70 crore, about $8.5 million, but ₹70 crore is about $7.4 million at roughly ₹95 to the dollar, and Inc42 reports $8.5 million as ₹80.9 crore. Either ₹70 crore is Blume's cheque inside a larger round, or the two numbers use different exchange rates. If $8.5 million is right, the company has raised about $11.5 million in two rounds, including a $3 million seed in December 2025.

Rotoris has not said which.

The founder's earlier exit and the seed investors

Anand previously built the fragrance brand Bella Vita Organic, and has said that Ananta Capital bought the company and that he took a majority exit. Prerna Gupta leads the house, the company says, and earlier coverage also names Anant Narula and Kunal Kapania as founding partners.

The seed was co-led by Nikhil Kamath, Venture Catalysts and 100Unicorns, which appears as 9Unicorns in the Series A announcement. Actor Vivek Oberoi and Tanmay Bhat invested, along with more than 30 founders including Varun Alagh and Gaurav Khatri. Rotoris's friends and partners page shows numbered watches for Saif Ali Khan, Vir Das and Peyush Bansal alongside Kamath, Oberoi and Bhat, so some of its most visible owners are also its backers.

Where the watches are made

The company says every watch is assembled and tested by hand at the Rotoris Atelier in Gurugram, on machinery from Switzerland, and that its processes were set up under Swiss horologists whose careers span Patek Philippe, IWC and Tiffany & Co. Movements are Swiss and Japanese, chosen per collection. Manifesta sets each dial in natural stone such as lapis lazuli and imperial jade, and Astonia is a 42mm chronograph in steel, titanium and carbon.

A rival with a higher price and a smaller run

Bangalore Watch Company, founded in 2018, announced a $1.4 million seed round on 30 September, raised from its own customers, family-office principals and wealthy individuals. It sells mechanical watches at ₹1.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh from a single Bengaluru boutique, with capacity of about 1,500 watches a year, and exports to more than 30 countries.

Rotoris sits below that band on price and has raised about eight times as much in disclosed funding. Blume, which says it manages over $800 million, also co-led Cent's $15 million Series A on the same day. The open question is whether a watch assembled in India can hold its price abroad once the founding chapter's novelty fades.
