The Hosteller Raises ₹150 Cr in Series B Round
Backpacker hostel chain The Hosteller has raised ₹150 crore in a Series B funding round co-led by PROMAFT Partners and V3 Ventures, with participation from ITI Growth Opportunities Fund, Merisis Wealth Trust, and prominent family offices. Founded in 2014 by Pranav Dangi, The Hosteller provides affordable, standardised, and experiential accommodation for young travellers, digital nomads, and explorers.
The company claims to operate more than 75 properties across 13 states and has hosted over 20 lakh unique travellers, adding over 30 properties and growing traveller capacity by nearly 70% in the past 12 months. The fresh capital will be deployed towards accelerating expansion across key travel destinations, strengthening operational efficiencies, and brand building. The company is targeting 25,000 beds nationwide within the next 36 months and is also preparing to launch a travel super app integrating accommodation, F&B, mobility, and curated experiences.
Polaris Smart Metering Raises $80 Mn from British International Investment
Polaris Smart Metering Private Limited has raised ₹710 crore (~$80 million) in financing from British International Investment (BII) for its subsidiary Hooghly Smart Metering Private Limited. The funding will be used to deploy over 2.2 million smart meters in West Bengal and expand Polaris' advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) footprint.
Polaris is an I Squared Capital portfolio company providing end-to-end smart metering solutions covering manufacturing, deployment, communications infrastructure, and software platforms. The company currently has an order book of around $1.1 billion, covering projects across Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Manipur, with a total of 7.5 million electric meters, and also operates in the smart gas metering segment with 1.6 million meters.
Aliste Technologies Raises ₹30 Cr in Pre-Series A Round
Energy management and IoT solutions startup, Aliste Technologies, has raised ₹30 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Big Global JSC, with participation from YourNest VC and HBeon Labs. The round includes a mix of equity and debt, and the funds will be used to strengthen research in energy-focused solutions and expand distribution of its enterprise offerings.
Founded in 2021 by Anant Ohri, Aakarsh Nayyar, Bhavya Kansal, Konark Gautam, and Shreyansh Jain, Aliste currently manages over 1.5 lakh IoT assets across more than 20 cities and tracks around 3 million units of energy consumption monthly. Its flagship solution, Intellivibe, uses AI and proprietary sensors to detect machine faults and prevent unplanned downtime. Speciality coffee roaster and machine manufacturer, Cohoma Coffee, has raised ₹5 crore in a seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures, with participation from Swishin VC. The proceeds will be used to scale manufacturing capabilities and expand into international markets.
Founded by Kanika Birla and Paritosh Birla, Cohoma Coffee operates a vertically integrated model, sourcing beans globally, roasting in-house, and building its own brewing machines.
