Arboreal Bioinnovations Raises ₹230 Crore in Series A

Arboreal Bioinnovations is a Lucknow-based specialty food and nutraceutical ingredients company founded in May 2018 by Swati Pandey and Manish Chauhan. It serves more than 1,100 B2B customers across India, supplying next-generation proteins, sugar reduction solutions, cocoa ingredients, and nutraceutical actives to food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods brands.

The company raised ₹230 crore (~$24 million) in a Series A round co-led by EAAA, the alternatives arm of Edelweiss, and Omnivore. Existing investor Rainmatter by Zerodha also participated in the round.

Proceeds will be directed towards expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening research and development, and accelerating commercialisation of its next generation of functional ingredients.

Apna Mart Raises ₹120 Crore in Series C

Apna Mart is a Gurugram-based franchise-led omnichannel grocery and FMCG startup founded by Abhishek Singh and Chetan Garg. It operates a neighbourhood store-led quick commerce model focused on Tier II and Tier III cities, competing with Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto.

The company closed a ₹120 crore (~$12.7 million) Series C round co-led by existing investors Accel India and Fundamentum, with participation from Peak XV Partners. The round valued Apna Mart at approximately ₹1,470 crore, nearly double its previous valuation of ₹738 crore. This follows a ~$25 million Series B raised a little over a year ago.

Fresh capital will strengthen working capital and support national expansion. Apna Mart's operating revenue grew 2.5x to ₹500 crore in FY26, though it did not disclose its bottom line for the year.

Sid's Farm Raises ₹81 Crore in Pre-Series B

Sid's Farm is a Hyderabad-based direct-to-consumer dairy brand founded in 2016 by Dr. Kishore Indukuri. It works with more than 5,000 dairy farmers and serves over 50,000 families, competing with Country Delight and Akshayakalpa Organic.

Sid's Farm raised over ₹81 crore (~$8.4 million) in a pre-Series B round led by Omnivore, NSFO, Dodla Dairy, Next Bharat Ventures, and LIO, alongside a consortium of other investors. This builds on a $10 million Series A closed in June 2024, co-led by Omnivore and NSFO.

The capital will be used to strengthen its supply chain, expand manufacturing and distribution, invest in product innovation, deepen farmer partnerships, and enter new markets.

Aham Housing Finance Raises ₹100 Crore in Follow-on Round

Aham Housing Finance is a technology-led affordable housing finance company focused on underserved and emerging borrower segments, including self-employed individuals and first-time homebuyers, across India.

Aham Housing Finance raised ₹100 crore in a follow-on funding round led by The Sanmar Group. Existing investor Negen Capital, one of Aham's early institutional backers, continues to remain associated with the company.

The funds will be used to strengthen lending capacity, deepen presence in existing geographies, enter select new markets, and invest further in technology, underwriting, and risk-management capabilities.

SUIND Raises ₹20.5 Crore in Seed Round

SUIND is an agriculture drone startup founded in 2020 by Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber. It develops autonomous unmanned aerial systems that use computer vision for navigation, enabling operation in low-altitude and GPS-denied environments. Its DGCA-certified spraying drone, Bumblebee, is already commercially deployed across farms and plantations.

The company raised ₹20.5 crore (~$2.2 million) in a seed round led by Transition VC, with participation from IIMA Ventures.

Funds will be used to scale commercial deployment of Bumblebee, accelerate development of its surveillance drone WASP, and expand its engineering team. SUIND competes with Marut Drones, Garuda Aerospace, and IoTechWorld Avigation, among others.

Truth & Hair Raises ₹5.4 Crore in Seed Funding

Truth & Hair is a Gurugram-based D2C hair beauty and styling brand founded in 2024 by Saumya Alagh and Shailesh Singh. Its portfolio includes the Root Touch Up Hair Mascara, 3-in-1 Curly Styler, and Flyaway Wand, targeting hair textures beyond the traditional shampoo and conditioner category. The brand appeared on Shark Tank India Season 5.

Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) led the ₹5.4 crore seed round.

The capital will support brand positioning in the hair makeup and styling segment, product innovation, expanded marketing, and distribution scale-up.

Vault by Virat Kohli Formalises Kohli Brothers' 28% Stake as Strategic Investment

Vault by Virat Kohli is a Delhi-based premium franchise-led fitness and wellness chain founded in 2023 by Mukesh Gogia. It currently serves more than 30,000 members across Tier I and Tier II cities, including Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Gorakhpur, and Hyderabad.

Cricketer Virat Kohli and his brother Vikas Kohli have been onboarded as strategic investors, formalising a combined 28% equity stake. The investment amount was not disclosed.

The company plans to expand to more than 50 operational clubs by end of 2026, with an increased focus on Tier III cities, as it looks to scale organised premium fitness infrastructure nationwide.

Meta Tightens Oversight of PM Modi's Facebook Account After MeitY Summons

Meta has sent a written response to MeitY outlining additional safeguards after the ministry summoned its global head of public policy over the temporary removal of PM Narendra Modi's Facebook video on 23 July. Under the new protocol, any content moderation decision involving the PM's account and select other prominent accounts will require sign-off from at least two senior Meta officials. The government said it was not satisfied with Meta's explanation that the post was removed due to a glitch in its AI-powered automated content filters, with IT Secretary S Krishnan calling the explanation inadequate. A Meta team is expected to meet government officials later this week or early next week.
