Flipkart and Amazon Catching Up in QComm Sector
The three front-runners control over three-quarters of the six platforms' daily order volumes combined. There is, nevertheless, a growing amount of competition in the remaining fields. With over a million orders each day, or 10% of the market, Flipkart Minutes is clearly making its mark. Approximately 6-7 lakh orders are processed every day by Amazon Now, whereas BigBasket processes about 5-6 lakh. The comparison with last year's figures makes the scaling up more apparent.
Estimates put the daily order processing volume of Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart at 4.15–4.45 million in March 2025. On the other hand, 4.8 million orders were processed daily by the five leading platforms. Recent data from August indicates that leading-platform volumes have increased significantly in just over a year, and the ranking of competing platforms has also begun to change. According to industry data cited by several media sites, Zepto has surpassed Swiggy Instamart in daily orders. At the same time, Amazon and Flipkart are now, instead of just being little competitors, generating large volumes every day.
Players Exploring New Avenues in QComm Market
The conventional quick-commerce cart is likewise becoming a battlefield. Marketplaces such as Amazon, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy, Instamart, Flipkart, and Minutes have just branched out into the gourmet and premium markets. Imported foods, premium meats, and specialist drinks are all part of these categories. Increasing the value of each basket rather than just encouraging customers to place more frequent orders is a key component of that change. One indicator of platform-specific economics is the dissimilarity in average order values.
In comparison to Swiggy Instamart's INR 691 AOV in the June quarter, Blinkit's was INR 518. An estimated INR 300-350 is Zepto's AOV. The quick-commerce sector in India has evolved significantly from its humble beginnings as a grocery delivery service, with daily orders now crossing the 10-million mark. According to the data from August, the market leaders are holding on to sizable shares, the competitors are expanding swiftly, and the focus will soon shift from delivery speed to the actual products that customers purchase.
